COVID19 TESTS

Image
Every  country affected with noval coronavirus is doing its best to prevent the spread of this destructive virus but the medical knowledge man have is not enough to fight with the deadly virus. Now what is observed by all to check the virus is: i) personal distancing ii) use of mask iii) remain in the house for long etc. As per various reports we may have to bear with this pandemic for some time as vaccine or any medicine is not likely to be available in the near future. Of late, a good number of asymptomatic  cases have been noticed. Since these silent patients can spread the disease rapidly we may have to strengthen preventive measures. The only possible way is to arrange to conduct more number of tests. If we have to ensure a cent per cent Covid free population we may have to ensure a cent per cent Covid19 tests too. Lack of resources, whether testing equipments, man power, finance or such things cannot be an excuse. We should also close all our gates, whether air, rail

AYURVEDIC RESEARCH ON COVID19

Image
We  Indians have a great history of our Ayurvedic medicines and have much to say about it. Since long we have been trying to popularise Ayurveda the world over. I do not think that we could succeed in selling the Ayurveda products in other countries in a big way. This must be the right time to promote Ayurveda across the world. Let us pool all our resources to find an Ayurvedic medicine to treat or prevent Covid 19. If this could be achieved within a given period of time with a cent per cent result, that itself will be a propaganda to familiarise Ayurveda across the world. Trust that the Indian Ayurvedic community will look into this seriously. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

QUARANTINE ARRANGEMENT

Image
Government of Kerala is understood to have made necessary arrangements for quarantine of the the people coming from abroad. So far, as per media reports, 2.76 lakhs people from different countries have registered with NORKA. As the central government is likely to use naval ships also for the transportation of these people, there could be huge number of people arriving in the initial weeks onwards. Further to this, people from other states will also come in considerable numbers once the train services resume. There is no any estimation of their numbers now. The government may, therefore, to ensure that depending upon the numbers arrrived, necessary quarantine arrangements have to be provided. This is to be confirmed and reconfirmed so that we can prevent any unexpected spread of the pandemic. As far as possible home quarantine should be avoided as there could be chances of spillover of infected people even in small numbers. We should make it doubly sure that the quarantine a

COVID19, LOCK DOWN AND OZONE LAYER

Image
While  the world is under lock down as imposed by Covid 19, nature is healing itself from the harmful effect by the man made pollution on ozone layer. Over the years of ejection of destructive gases large opening has been formed in the ozone layer. The amazing news appeared after the coronavirus spread is that the largest hole in the ozone layer about a million square kilometres above the arctic has closed due to unusual atmospheric conditions. This is confirmed by few weather forecast organisations of Europe. Sharing a post on the micro-blogging website, Copernicus ECMWF wrote, "The unprecedented 2020 northern hemisphere #OzoneHole has come to an end." Let us now conclude the fact that the coronavirus is a medicine injected by the nature to treat itself. It is something to be reiterated, therefore, that if we continue to harm the mighty and super intelligent nature, the great power shall certainly defend itself. Consequent upon the Covid19 terror we all have lear

RETURN OF NRIs

Image
While  the state of Kerala is very anxious to bring back as many willing Malayalees to Kerala as early as possible from all countries, the centre is looking at a wider perspective as they have to consider millions of Indians trapped all over the world. The state government is understood to have taken up the matter with the central government but the central government has not given any clear guidelines so far, as they cannot take an initiative only for the state of Kerala. However Kerala holds an advantage to stress their demand as they have already made quarantine arrangements for about two lakhs people. In the meantime, NORKA has started registering the names of the willing personnel. We must also consider the fact that we cannot accommodate the entire repatriates at a time. Hence, while making the list, strict preference should be given to sick people looking for treatment here, pregnant women, children need care, old aged people, people who got their Visa expired, unemp

WHAT IS AFTER THE LOCK DOWN

Image
The  coming months after lifting the Lock Down can be very sensitive for the whole country especially for the state of Kerala. Once the Air and Train services are resumed there can be a huge inflow of people coming from all over the world and from other states of our country. It can be beyond our estimation. Whatever quarantine arrangements we make can be inadequate for the number of people coming. Testing more people in a given period of time may be another challenge. Initially there may not be too many Covid 19 patients, but certainly there can be some. If utmost care is not taken the spilled out carriers can create havoc in the state. It is preferable, therefore, to have a safe assessment, that too on the higher side, to set a target. An elasticity may also be maintained in the total number of beds available in the hospitals and the number of medical personnel available. A good number of nurses affected with the disease in other states who belong to Kerala have already m

SPRINKLER OVERTAKING COVID 19

Image
While the whole world media is concentrating on COVID 19 the media in Kerala have suddenly shifted their focus on Sprinkler. What is being discussed is whether data processing entrusted with this American company is right or wrong. To sum up the matter it can be said that the opposition parties in Kerala have found fault in awarding the work to Sprinkler company. The government is justifying the decision taken by them and the dissatisfied opposition has referred the case to the judiciary. Both parties shall now produce documents to the court in support of their arguments and try to establish their contention. Subsequently the judiciary may pass the most appropriate decree  and that would be applicable to both parties. What is the reason  then all the media is totally concentrating on this subject every now and then? Let us wait for the judgement of the court. We may now continue to fight with the unseen enemy without diverting our attention towards anything else. KV George

COVID 19 AND THE AFTERMATH

Image
Covid 19  has shaken the economy of many countries and also exposed the economic weakness of some others. The coming time may witness terrific collapse of some so called strong economies. We may also find some stronger relationship between some selected frontline nations. It is also possible that international trade will have new denotation. Most of the nations may co-operate with each other in pollution control activities. As a whole,  the tiny coronavirus may have some positive contribution to most of the countries and people as a whole. New lessons and new knowledge may warrant new appraisal too. May be in a couple of months we may find effective medicine to treat this dangerous virus. However a vaccine may be available only after an year. More stress will be needed, therefore,  for self prevention for some more months. The effort of the people en masse can only throw away this pandemic from this earth as we all  know that this disease is beyond medical science today. KV

COVID19 - WHAT WE DO IN ISOLATION

Image
During this period of isolation in the houses people can be categorised in different formation of thoughts. 1.How to arrange food for self and other members of the house.(Daily wage worker) 2.How to get a full bottle. (One who do not bother about anything in the world) 3.How long this will continue. (Priest) 4.How to make some money sitting at home.(Habitually corrupt employee) 5.Who all can be blamed for this Covid 19 (Politician) But, a person who is not well placed, so simple, not well educated and not even rich to say thinks: I shall remain in the house as long as required. I will not harm anyone in the future. I will not throw the domestic waste at public place. I will not misuse my smart phone ever. I will try to help the needful as far as possible. And so on ... Yes, it is a hard truth what we face now. No one can say what may happen after a few days because the genetic change of the virus is beyond prediction now. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

COVID19 AND CHINESE INFLUENCE IN INDIAN ECONOMY

Image
China has become a strong competitor for India in the field of medical components. It is not a new case. China has already made huge investments in many fields in different countries of the world with the ultimate aim of gaining supremacy in their economy. China has made investments in a number of Indian start up companies to the tune of 2 billion USD in 2018 and 3.9 billion USD in 2019. These investments are made by Chinese firms like Alibaba, Tencent Holdings etc. Chinese government is believed to have share holdings of considerable value in these companies. This is nothing but an economic game played by China focusing towards the future. However, in order to counter this, Government of India has made necessary amendments in the FDI act. The Indian government has made it mandatory to obtain prior approval for FDI from countries that are sharing boarders with India.  This alteration in the law is primarily aimed at China. European Union too have grave concern over this mat

COVID 19 RELATED CORRUPTION

Image
Corruption  is the birth right for some people in our country. Wherever get an opportunity they insert the hands into the money bag. These shameless one can be found in all parties. As per the media reports huge quantity of rice was taken away from the community kitchen and sold in the market. This rice is either donated by the people or given by  the government for the poor people in this Covid 19 related jeopardy. In another case the food packets meant for the hungry ones were taken away by the organisers of the kitchen to their families and friends. A good number of such cases were appeared in the media even during the deluge. Political parties must take up these cases seriously and ensure due punishment to them. Such antisocial elements should be removed from the parties they belong. The world may despise us for this dirty act of ours. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

PROTECT THE MEDICAL PERSONNEL

Image
According  to media reports around three hundred medical personnel including Doctors and Nurses are infected with Covid 19 and under treatment in different states of India. This is to be viewed seriously. If we take out these people from the treatment area we will not have adequate doctors and nurses to treat the Covid 19 patients mounting in numbers in many states. The prime reason for the infection can be lack of protective coverings which give total safety.  Concerned authorities/management should focus their attention towards this and ensure that not a single medical professional is infected henceforth. WHY DO WE ACT SLOW?

Image
As per news reports about 65,000 nos PPE kits imported from China have been found sub standard and rejected by India. What is that prevent us from manufacturing such things in India. Recently some Indian medical scientists from Kyoto, Japan with the help of a professor and students from IIT, Roorkee have developed Covid 19 testing kits with 99.69% accuracy. These kits give 100 images in about 3.5 seconds and the operational cost is too low. Someone from Kerala has developed low cost ventilators. Another one had developed low cost sanitizer spraying equipment. There are many such items that can be manufactured in India and exported to many countries. It is the central and state governments to take the lead and pool the resources. There are many qualified youth in this country who can take up the production of these things. Government need not spend any money. Proper guidance and marketing assistance should be provided by the government. There is no meaning in preparing stati

NEW INDUSTRIAL CONCEPT

Image
The state of Kerala is not making any result oriented efforts in bringing up more and more industries in this state. The prime concern in this matter is lack of adequate land. Since we cannot bring more land into the state we must learn to manage within the available land. Some selected major industries can be organised within a limited area. Manufacturing of most components and partial assembly can be managed out side the main factory. Many such operations can be shifted into the houses of the employees. It should be made compulsory that every employee related to the production units should have one or two separate rooms of a specified area in their houses exclusively for the use of the industry. One or two small machines can be installed there. The employee can do the assigned work there. The completed units properly assembled can be sent to the next place or the main factory. If well planned and organised we can set up a good number of industries within our available res

COVID 19 PRECAUTION

Image
So far things are fine. All are well. But the days after the Lock Down is lifted may not be as calm as we think. Once the air, rail and interstate bus traffic are opened the huge inflow of people  from abroad and other states of India can be beyond the estimated numbers. We may have to test all of them and quarantine to be arranged accordingly. We may have to plan the operation now itself. Another important aspect is the inflow of trucks  from other states. At present an average of two thousand trucks with two persons in each makes a total of around 4000 people a day. Normally they are mingling with a good number of people. This too needs attention. Under no circumstances we can take a lenient view of the situation. We may have to continue to act as seriously as possible. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

CORONA OF SUPER EGO

Image
Coronavirus  has a distinguished character. Unlike other viruses it would not call on anyone. One should invite it and carry home. Otherwise it will not visit anyone. Once invited to your house it will shunt you and your family members out of the house. Each one of us may, therefore, think twice before extending an invitation to this killer one. Until now it has shunted out 126,753    people from their houses for ever world over. Let all of us stay in our houses. Do not send invitation for this virus in any form. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

STRICT ADHERENCE OF OFFICIAL DIRECTIVES

Image
The whole world has reached to a near stand still. The horror spread by the micro sized virus is beyond explanation. We Indians too are no exception. However the timely action taken by the state government has helped we Keralites to breathe somewhat freely. This state of affair has unfortunately given wrong signals to some of our people. This was reflected on the roads shops and markets. These people had only one thing in mind; to celebrate the ensuing Vishu festival. They all failed to understand the pathetic truth that if they forego this celebration they can continue to celebrate many festivals to come. Otherwise their near and dear too cannot.                                        Let us all strictly obey the directives issued by the authorities from time. It is not for themselves but for all of us.We are safely in our house just because of the timely guidelines issued by them and the good effort to enforce those.                                           KV George

A PANDEMIC EVERY HUNDRED YEARS!

Image
It  looks strange but when we look back to the recent past we can find that the pandemics are occurring between a perfect interval of hundred years. Plague in 1720: 'The Great Plague of Marseille' was broken out in 1720. Marseille is located 771 km away from Paris in France. An estimated 100,000 lives were swallowed by this killer disease. Cholera in 1820:   The first cholera pandemic occurred in Asia. Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines were among the most affected countries. The total deaths were around 100,000. Spanish flu in 1920: This relentless pandemic was the worst in known human history. This killer disease was infected around half a billion people and took the lives of over 100 million people. As the name indicates this disease was not originated from Spain. However this was spread over a vast region from South Seas to the North Pole. Covid 19 in 2020:   Though this killer disease was originated from Wuhan, China in November 2019, it has spread across the

GULF MALAYALEES

Image
The  spread of coronavirus has brought some of our brethren of the Gulf region in agonizing footing. The Chief Minister of Kerala is understood to have brought their pathetic condition to the knowledge of the Prime Minister. Under this circumstances the Gulf Malayalees can be seen in three categories. The first one is those who are interested to continue there. The second one is those who can manage to remain there. The third category however cannot afford to continue there for many reasons. Some of them are infected with the Covid19 and under treatment. Few of them cannot afford the highly enhanced airfare too. With the help of the Indian Embassies and the Malayalee Associations there the Government Kerala may try to bring back those people belonging to the third category as above through the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India as early as possible. It may not be an untimely highlight that the Malayalees abroad have remitted a sum of over one and half lakh ru

NO MONEY!

Image
Coronavirus may find its way back soon. The money gate of the state may remain closed for too long. The tiny virus shall make its impact felt all over the world for too long a time. Government of India and the state governments may try to tighten their belts for the time being. The financial status of the state of Kerala may be the worst among all states. Every country of the world, irrespective of whether rich or poor, may shoulder the burden for quite sometime. However what is more important is how many are returning to normal the earlier. While the state of Kerala did its best to check the pandemic to a considerable extent every stone of its economic pillar is shaken. The state has nothing in vicinity to rebuild the shattered economy. They also cannot think about increasing public debt as it has already reached to an unbearable state. Despite the dangerous collapse of economy we should take all precautions to maintain the status quo of the disease intact. Under no circum

COVID 19 - ENCOURAGE TO FIND MEDICINE

Image
The whole world is trying to find some medicine for Covid 19. We Indians should also explore all avenues. Both central and state governments may seriously consider this. We have many potential areas to conduct extensive research. We have Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Sidha, Naturopathy etc other than Allopathy to explore. Along with Allopathy we can explore the other sectors too to try to find a medicine for Covid 19. Doctors from Allopathy may also conduct their own research. Over and above them school and college students can also be encouraged to participate in this research. Government may announce a suitable reward of huge sum (not less than ₹ 50/- crores) to those who successfully come out with the proper medicine.  Let us make an attempt. We are certainly not loosing or risking anything. It is a zero investment business for the government. In case someone can find the right medicine, government can associate with them to get this approved and can jointly market this al

COVID 19 - WE SHOULD ACT MORE

Image
If we evaluate the action taken to control the pandemic we can only say; so far so good. It does not mean that we have prevented the spread of the dangerous virus. As per the current reports the number of patients are sharply increasing. We should not loosen up the stringent measures taken so far. We have many things to do now. Until this moment we could not strictly implement personal distancing. Crowds are reported from different parts of the country. Man to man distancing should be strictly implemented. We must also put efforts to manufacture indigenously cheap masks, gloves, ventilators and all necessary personal protective equipments on top most priority. Further to all these We must keep ourselves ready to meet any emergency situation. We must, therefore, look for more space, more beds and more medical personnel as the contingency can be expected any time.We should always keep in our minds that we are now sitting under the Sword of Damocles. REJUVENATION OF ECONOMY

Image
While  continuing our fight against coronavirus we must immediately focus our attention towards the economy of the state. The tiny virus has exposed the shattered economy of the state. For decades the prime revenue of the state, other than taxes and duties, are from alcoholic drinks and lottery. When one is selling dreams to the people the other is making the poor poorer. Chunk of the revenue is alarmingly spent for salary of the government employees and for political paraphernalia. This is continuously being done by every successive governments. No one is dare to look for any alternative sources. In fact the economic backbone of the state is huge sums of money pumped in by the expatriates from countries across the world. It is high time that we must change our economic outlook. The government should think on more and more manufacturing and exporting industries. Every household of the state should be made participant of such new industries spread over the whole state. Gover

COVID 19 - WHAT WE DO NEXT

Image
Timely action taken by the government of India and some state governments could do far contain the spread of Covid 19 in our country.  The government have now decided not to extend the Lock Down beyond 14th of April. PM has sought openion from all state Chief Ministers in this regard. Looking at the present world scenario, we may discuss the matter at length with all concerned and may take appropriate decision. Even during the Lock Down, crowding of people could be found at different parts of the country. Hence setting loose the control may create havoc and no amount of regulations later may bring the situation normal. It is better, therefore, to continue the rigid control to a suitable period. The latest reports, both from within the country and abroad, shows that in some cases this disease does not show the known symptoms. If possible it is better, therefore,  to test the entire population to confirm the disease before lifting all regulatory measures. Also quarantine may

HATRED BY GOVERNMENT

Image
It  is unimaginable that a state government of the largest democratic nation is refusing medical aid to the people of the same country. The decision of the Karnataka government, on one pretext or the other, can be seen only on the grounds of political ideologies. Coronavirus is a worldwide disaster. It is not confined to Kerala alone. It is also not that Karnataka has tied magical thread across its boarders to prevent the entry of this virus to their state. Hence other states are not allowed to break this thread! It is also not comprehensible to the common man why the government of Karnataka refused to adhere to the orders of the High Court of Kerala. The orders issued by the High Court is not based on any Chinese or Japanese law but wholly based on the Indian Constitution but the Karnataka government took a conceited decision to refute the order. Instead of any political philosophy it should have been considered under humanitarian grounds. It is extremely unfortunate that

PRAY FOR YOU AND FOR ALL

Image
Covid 19 have spread terror across the world. Man is helplessly glaring at it. No medicine to prevent it and no medicine to treat it. Even the most powerful economy of the world has become impotent in front of this tiny virus. Man cannot expect any consolation in the near future. Like everything in this universe this virus is also created by the Almighty One. It must have been created with a purpose. Man has, therefore, only one thing at hand. Pray the Supreme One to forgive all that wrongs we have done against us, against others, against all life beings in this world and against the universe itself. We all have our own God within us. Pray for His forgiveness. As this distructive virus is sent here by the God Himself, it is He alone can take it away from here. Pray, pray and pray. The God of Love and Compassion shall certainly hear us. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

MILD WARNING BY NATURE

Image
What is being told here do not hold any documentary evidence like laboratory reports or historical facts. The intelligence of nature is unfathomable and beyond human imagination. Man cannot hide anything from nature and nature convey man and all other living beings appropriately from time to time. Though other beings act according to the guidence of the nature, man is reluctant to do so. This attracts sharp reaction from the nature. The present threat of the coronavirus is a mild reaction by the nature. Now, if we acknowledge the fact, repent for our provocative action and pray for pardon, nature will certainly forgive. Each one of us may pray for himself and on behalf of every human being on this Earth for the forgiveness of the mother nature and assure that we shall never hurt her in anyway. If we make this prayer earnestly, it is certain that we shall immediately overcome the present precarious situation. It may not be done as a test case. Do it with absolute honesty and

SMALL VIRUS, BIG TEACHING!

Image
The tiny coronavirus has taught us big lessons. No powerful long range missiles or error free and tight defence system can defend the people of any country. No spy satellite can detect the most destructive enemy. Any strong economy can be shattered in a few months. The term 'self sufficient' has no meaning. No granary is enough to feed the people. And the list goes miles and miles long. As a whole 7.8 billion people learnt that their individual or collective ego has no meaning. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com
