CRIMINALISATION OF DEMOCRACY

It is high time that we Indians should realise the truth that we are not ruled by political parties with any ideology but by many number of criminals who have committed murder, attempt to murder, crime against women and the like. The 16th Lok Sabha recorded the highest number of members with criminal cases against them; a whopping 34%. This figure was quoted by The Hindu from a  report compiled by the Association of Democratic Reforms. Among the states, however, credit go to Maharashtra, UP and Bihar with the highest number of elected members with criminal cases against them. There is another blazing account that 82% of the newly elected MPs and MLAs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have serious criminal charges against them. Further to these 18% of cabinet ministers have criminal charges against them including crime against women, murder and attempt to murder.

If we allow these criminals to rule us what can we expect from them? Can any woman be safe in India? Can the life of any individual is safe here? Can the wealth of the people are secured?

Accusing one political party or the other has no meaning. We Indians must unite against the prevailing system of governance. The so called democracy has proved to be the worst system of governance. Changing the party or the government may bring no favourable results. It helps to change the attire of the criminals only.

We should under no circumstances allow us to be ruled by criminals. But what can we do? Instead of looking for any intrigued refinement, let us look for a tried and tested one, the presidential form of government, at least as another experiment. In this form we may have at least one relief, that we need to shoulder only one, not the thousands, as put on our head today. However, we should  try to enter this new system only by legal means and by democratic methods not by violence of any sort. There may be millions to support this change over.

Think, think and act fast.
