POLITICAL DONATIONS

According to data collected by Association for Democratic Reforms and published by Times of India sometimes back BJP has increased its share, cornering over 55% of all funding from donations compared to 51% in the previous year. Huge amount of these donations are shown as "unknown sources" of income.

There are two aspects concerned with the common man in this. One is that most of the major donors are business people. They do not shell out huge sums for a fun. They certainly expect multiple returns. These returns are generally come through illegitimate means and this is the fundamental issue of corruption. Many eminent personalities have expressed this time and again. Another aspect is that most of this receipt is shown as undisclosed income. This is nothing but to avoid income tax. The party that is the chief participant of the ruling government should be the model for the people in observation of the law. Here it is the fence that eat the crops. They themselves evading the tax in front of the entire nation.

Can the people do anything in this whole open game of corruption by almost all political parties ?
