LOVE AND LOVE

Love is one of the most used words in the world.  Each one of us have our own interpretation of the word. In fact we all use it to our convenience. While using this word either in spoken language or written language we prefer to remain incognito. We are certainly not using this word according to the stipulated meaning. As per the standard dictionary, love means, a strong feeling of affection. We may be within the purview of the meaning given but it can be either positive or negative feelings. In fact the expression of love by animals are natural and genuine whereas human love contains full of deception.

God is love! What the little bit of love we have is the gift of God. Most of us never try to add to what is given to us. Either we may retain it as it is or leave it away in course of the hard life. If we happen to see anyone full of love, it is certain that the element of God in such people are very high. For instance, Mother Teresa was one with divine love. She was a human filled with God.

St Paul gives a perfect definition of love in chapter 13, verses 4 to 8 of the First Epistle to the Corinthians in the New Testament. "Charity (love) is patient, is kind; charity feels no envy; charity is never perverse or proud, never insolent; does not claim it's rights, cannot be provoked, does not brood over an injury; takes no pleasure in wrong-doing, but rejoices at the victory of truth; sustains, believes, hopes, endures, to the last. This must be the best definition for love. This is divine love which is almost impossible for man.

If anyone can admit that he has no love in him and, therefore, cannot share it with anyone else, he may be gifted with love by the God of Love. Those who feel that they have enough love in store shall realise the absence of love quite frequently in their lives.

Those who have true love in them and shower it liberally shall never lose happiness in their lives because love is God Himself. Love, for man, is an expression to deceive others. Anyone who say 'I love' is also confirm in absolute terms that 'I forgive'. There cannot be any love without forgiveness. "Father, forgive them;  they do not know what it is they are doing." (Luke 23:34) This is what can be said as love because it is full of forgiveness. Jesus prayed for those who did all against Him and nailed on the cross.

Let us learn to love and practice it every now and then.
