DO INDIA NEED A CHANGE IN THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT?

Image
Part III (Continued from yesterday)   (Nehru and Patel, courtesy     Getty) There are three things that can be seen as the most adverse in the level of assessment of a country. Number one amongst those is the widespread corruption in our country. Number two is the safety of women in our country. The threat faced by women is not confined to any part of the country but throughout. According to the report by NCRB rape cases reported in 2020 were 3,71,503, in 2021 it went upto 4,28,278 and further went upon 2022 to 4,45,256. Women in India is in a pathetic state. As a corrective measure as we we have discussed earlier this issue should also be included in the school syllabus. While counting the serious issues of our country another important aspect is our per capita income. As we have discussed earlier in PCI we rank 120 out of 179 countries whereas we are in the fifth position in GDP. Based on 2019s PPP International Comparison according to the United Nation...

DO INDIA NEED A CHANGE IN THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT?

Image
Part II Continued from yesterday           Dr B R Ambedkar Panchayats , Municipalities, State Legislators and National Parliament put together there are 2,77,671 elected members who are entrusted with various decision making. If they fail to take the right decision at the right time some time it may cost heavily to the country. Further to this there are innumerable media reports about some politicians in power swindle huge amount of public money. Though there are ways and means to find out the truth behind the media reports in many cases the people get a feeling that the media reports are not effectively enquired upon. Why it is happening so? The reason behind these are that in most cases the corruption is not a single hand action. It is a chain of action and therefore, the sharing the sum involved in by a large number of people. However, there are absolutely honest people can be found everywhere. And that make the crime leaked out and sometimes reac...

DO INDIA NEED A CHANGE IN THE FORM OF GOVERNMENT?

Image
The Parliament of India.   Image courtesy, India Today   Despite having the required means in the form of natural resources and with a large strength of young manpower we are not able to reach the top layer of wealthy nations. According to Forbes India report dated 7.2.2024 of the top 10 largest economies in the world for 2024, India stands at number five while USA, China, Germany, Japan are ahead of us. When it is  brought into per capita income (ppp) of 2022, it is totally shaken. In a list of 179 countries India's ranking is 120. Our PCI is $ 8,379. Luxembourg ($ 1,42,214), Singapore ($ 1,27,565), Ireland ($ 1,26,905) Norway ($ 1,14,899) Qatar ($ 1,14,648) etc are on top of the list. In women's safety index of 146 countries of 2023 India stands at 127.  All these are the after effect of corruption in our country. Various estimates put the amount of black money from India anywhere between $ 181 billion and $ 1.8 trillion. Another esti...

WHAT IS OUR OWN IN THIS WHOLE WORLD

Image
King Philip IV  (1621 - 1665) of Spain was known as the Planet King (El Rey Planeta). This name came because his kingdom never had sun set. A German is believed to have said that a Prussian King Frederick the Great in 1756 gifted the moon to his ancestors. Though there are stories about kings who had imaginarily extended their power across the solar system, we may  also find that as on today, thousands of people belonging to many countries hold novelty deeds to show having purchased land in Moon, Mars and other planets from private companies. Many rich Indians too are possessing documents of ownership of land in Moon and Mars. We may say those are imaginary possessions. If that is so our possessions in this earth too are imaginary possessions. Before man comes to the earth, different regions on the earth were under the control of powerful and not so powerful animals. After the arrival of man on the earth he created large region in the forest and open green land...

HOW LONG WE INDIANS REMAIN INACTIVE?

Image
We  ourselves are boasting that Covid 19 has brought us good number of economic opportunities. Unfortunately we are yet to wake up to the opened situation. Our people, especially the youth, are still moving around unaware of the circumstances. Availing the opportunity well within time is a joint effort both by the government and by the people. It is not enough for the government to announce plans and programmes but also to ensure that the people are availing the way it is needed. In India we have enough resources to produce thousands of goods that are needed in many countries. We also have the required technical know-how to produce such goods with excellent quality. Now, over and above, if we can bring down the cost considerably we can have an abundant market all over. It is the government to provide financial assistance, technical support and working space to our qualified youth. It is the youth to look for the suitable assistance and use it most effectively. Fortunate...

KERALA MUST LEAVE THIS DIRTY POLITICS AND CONCENTRATE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STATE

Image
(Great Southwest Industrial Park, Arlington, USA. Image courtesy - Zee News) (This article was published  about an year back) While the government of Kerala is more interested in Governor, V C and such related matters than addressing serious issues concerning the people, the opposition too are joining them. As per the prevailing financial situation of the state, it may not be possible to disburse the salary of the government employees after a few months. It is the duty of the opposition parties to suggest ways and means to the government to overcome this precarious situation. Surprisingly the media too is focusing on petty political issues than discussing more important subjects like the pathetic financial state of the government. When the media and the opposition parties allege financial mismanagement of the government they should also suggest ways and means to get over from this. All said and done the state government is in a red hot spot. It may not be that easy to c...

SREE NARAYANA GURU

Image
Sree  Narayana Guru must be one of the greatest human being, may be beyond that, ever born in this holy land. He had Jesus Christ in him, Sree Krishna in him and also Swami Vivekananda in him. He taught great human philosophy in the simplest language. He was not confined himself in temples or any other places of worship. His teachings are not within the framework of ethical and moral code of any religion. He did not preach any faith. He said about the Supreme One in his own language. One cast, one God and one religion is for all men is his prime teaching. He could be the model of modesty and purity. About 25% of the state population constitutes the followers of Sree Narayana Guru. SNDP was the rudimentary organisation for the followers of the Guru. This has since been well established both financially and with political support. Other than having some educational institutions, hospitals and old age homes within the state, what have been done nationally or internationall...

HIGH INFLATION, NO IMPACT ON DOLLAR!

Image
From   Rs 4.76 per dollar in 1947, Indian rupee fell to an altime low of Rs 93.81 as on this  date. However, when USA was facing a severe inflation sometime back, may be one of the harsh one of the recent times, it could make no dents on the US Dollar. It seems that exchange rates are arrived at by some mythical terms of calculation. I think it is near impossible to give a satisfactory explanation to this strange state of international exchange rates. Due to  this inflation, per capita strain on US economy was much higher than India's per capita strain. However during the inflation period the US$ stood as strong as ever but the Indian rupee had severe dent. This economic theory is beyond the concept of modern economics. May the economic priests sit together and arrive at a universally acceptable formula for international monetary exchange. The existing system of exchange rates is not managed by any universal theory. Currently the rates are managed by some...

COMMUNISM, CASTRO AND CUBA

Image
Communist Party of Cuba is the ruling party of that country. Cuba is headed by the President Miguel Diaz Canel who succeeded Raul Castro as first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in 2021. As per the existing political system of Cuba, a single party regime is allowed where political opposition is not permitted. Elections in Cuba is not considered democratic because the government does not allow free and fair voting. Before the Cuban revolution it was Fulgecio Batista ruled Cuba from 1940 to 1944. Fidel Castro ruled the country as Prime Minister from 1959 to 1976 and then as President from 1976 to 2008. He temporarily gave power to his brother Raul Castro at the end period due to medical reasons. Fidel Castro was the first secretary of Communist Party of Cuba from 1965 to 2011. During his tenure he made Cuba a one party Communist state. Industry and business were nationalised and socialist reforms were implemented. During the regime of Castro Cuba had economic support...

Five persons hold technical degree and one among them is a female. According to a social worker from Kochi, addiction to drugs, liquor and extravaganza in life brought many educated people to perdition. A rescued person was a graduate from BITS Pilani. A beggar is informed to have an earning of ₹200/- to ₹2,000/- a day. For the sake of money some are involved in criminal activities. Begging is also a business for some. It is understood that people from other states come to Kerala with beggars for this business. Government of Kerala may come forward for the rehabilitation of the beggars. The existing Poor Homes, Destitute Homes etc can accommodate some of them. Religious organisations, Social organisations and NGOs can a ...

OUR PROUD OWNERSHIP!

Image
We are the proud owners of many prestigious possessions in this world. It is like we become an owner of a very big company or the  president of a big country in one of our dreams. Not even a hair of ours can be said as our own. Today we   maintain it the best possible way and keep it as our prestigious symbol. Tomorrow when we go to the hair salon it will be cut and removed and people will walk over it. That is the case with our own body. Then think about the gold, the rupee note, the large garden and mansion we have. When we read a well written novel, we also live in a big house, travel in a posh car and eat good food. When we  finish the book, we return to ourselves without house, car and food. Our life is also like this. During our school days, the teacher sometimes ask us to go and play for a while and come   when the handbell sounds. During that playing time we may sometimes hurt others, love and say good words to some others. Some of us go...

THE CURSE OF OUR COUNTRY IS EXCESSIVE POLITICS

Image
Politics is only to be used as a pointer towards the governance of a country or a region by a group of people. It is supposed to be a socioeconomic ideology presented to the people. The group who holds this ideology becomes a political party. This ideology is to be used for the betterment of the people as a whole. Under no circumstances the concerned party can be deviated from this ideology. While what we say here are the basic concept of politics, what have relevance in our country are something different. As per the latest publication of Election Commission of India dated 23rd September 2021 the total number of parties registered in India was 2850 with 8 national parties, 54 state parties and 2797 unrecognised parties. The ideal goal of governance is economic growth of the people under peaceful atmosphere. Nothing else should be mixed with this. Unfortunately, we in our country mix religion, cast, subcast, region, language etc as good ingredients in politics as well as th...

IT'S ME TO ANSWER MY PRAYERS TO GOD

Image
It may find incomprehensible and look strange, but is the truth. God may give us at the same measure at which we give others in the same situation. For instance, one has to construct a house for him. He has only little money with him. He prays the Supreme One for the remaining sum. The prayer has become routine for him. One day a poor man came to him. He told our man that he lost his small house in the recent flood and cyclone. His wife and children are in great trouble. Now, our man has few options to deal with the situation. He can give the whole money available with him to the poor man. Other option is to give half of what he has. The third option is to give little from what he has. The last is to turn the man away without giving anything. Let us find that God too have similar options with Him when we pray. Which option is to be chosen by Him is determined by the same option we choose in similar situations. If we look back our past thoroughly we can find many matching si...

ECONOMIC BALANCING IN INDIA

Image
We may have a non-conventional look at the Indian economic development. As per Forbes report India has 169 billionaires in 2023 which was 166 in 2022, 101 in 2017 and 9 in 2000. As per information 73% of wealth generated in 2017 went to the richest 1%. The poverty rate in India was 26%in 2000, 27.4% in 2012, 21.6% in 2014 and 2015 it was 176 million. In 2023 it is 14.96%. People below poverty line in India is earning below Rs 27,000 per annum or Rs 2,250 per month or Rs 75 per day. In today's price can one live with Rs 75 a day? Internationally poverty line is marked at two ranges, $10 and $5.50 a day. If this becomes the benchmark, many more Indians may fall under below poverty line. According to Oxfam, it takes 941 years for a minimum wage earned worker to reach the level of a well paid executive of a garment company in India. Now it is the people of India to determine their targets of growth. Do we want to eat fairly good food three times in a day? Do we want to cont...

UNBELIEVABLE EQUATION

Image
The state of Andhra Pradesh was formed on 1st November.1956.  This was the 306th day of 1956. After 58 years AP was divided into two states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This was on 2nd June 2014. And that was the 153rd day of 2014. Surprisingly 153 is half of 306. Divine mathematical equation. K V George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

TV DEBATES, MOSTLY BECOME COMEDY SHOWS

Image
(Image courtesy - You Tube) Almost all Malayalam TV news channels conduct political debates all seven days in a week. Generally current issues are taken as the subject for discussion. Major political parties are made to participate in this. Almost every day the debate reach the boiling point while concluding. When one says yes the other says no is the prime trend of the discussion. Unfortunately these debates normally looks like comedy shows in most days because of the ignorance exposed by some of the participants. In some occasions the law itself were misinterpreted by learned people. This is done to express their loyalty to the party they belong to. In fact the subjects for debate is selected by channels to draw more viewers than for the benefits of the state. The state government is at the rock bottom level of economic growth. The government is trying hard to meet the day to day needs . There are many issues needs urgent attention. Unfortunately none of our news channels...

WHAT IS KNOWN TO THE WHOLE WORLD ABOUT INDIA IS NOT KNOWN TO MOST INDIANS

Image
City Montessori School, Lucknow      World's largest school as per number                     of students  It  is a hard truth that most of of the Indians do not know what people from most other countries learnt about India and the people living here. We may be reluctant or even shameful to admit those. Let us now go through the following facts that are gathered from different web sources. This is not intended to disgrace our fellow beings but to encourage them to come up in life by acquiring more and more knowledge. Education  According to available information about one third of our population above 18 years are below matriculation and about one fifth of the population are purely illiterates. South Korea,Canada,Japan, UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Australia etc are placed on top of the world in education. It is our Central and State governments to fo...

DO WE NEED A SOCIAL REFORMATION?

Image
Many  of us talk quite frequently about the governance, the social system, political parties, criminal activities all around, corruption everywhere and so many such negatives that take away the peace from us. Neither we are contented with the results of our own actions nor we get even little happiness from our work places nor we have peace anywhere in our society. Still we suppress our expression of resistence. We don't protest against all that destructive things happening around us every now and then. What make us to be mum? All those unwanted things offered to us by the prevailing political systems which are inadvertently accepted by us. How long we shall continue like this? Don't we need a change? We cannot now wait for another Mahatma Gandhi to come for our help. Each one of us should become a Gandhi. The first thing we should do is to quit from the existing political system. We don't need a new party or political ideology. The governance of the state should...

IS CONFESSION IN CHRISTIANITY AN UNBELIEF TO JESUS CHRIST

Image
According to Catholic Christian faith the Sacrament of Penance is the method by which individuals confess sins committed after baptism. These sins are absolved by God through the administration of the priest who assigns an act of penance. In order to strengthen this Mathew 18:18 (... Whatever you will have bound on earth, shall be bound also  in heaven, and whatever you will have released on earth, shall be released also in heaven.) is quoted by those who support this. However can also go through Mathew 18:11 too.(For the Son of Man has come to save what had been lost.) Another significant word that need to be quoted in connection with confession is Genesis 6:6 ( ... repented that he had made man on the earth ... ) This word of God the Father is likely to be interpreted by different people and groups by their own choice and preferences. We find the repentance of God here,  which was accomplished at Golgotha on the cross in the form of Jesus Christ. And that saved t...

JUVENILE CRIME IN INDIA

Image
Juvenile crime in India has downward tendency during the period between 2013 and 2022 when the number of crimes committed by the young ones came down from 43506 to 30555. We see that countries like Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Finland, Netherlands etc have the lowest rate of juvenile crime in the world. Why our youngsters sent out freely to commit crime? Can we not prevent them from doing crime? Excessive politics is one of the prime factors that prompt children to commit crime. In order to avoid this all types of political activities should be banned from all educational institutions. This decision should be taken by the parents and teachers together and should be implemented strictly by the state and central governments.  Another important aspect to consider to bring down crime in our country is deployment of cent per cent youth. In other words, make the unemployment rate to zero. In order to make it happen we must exploit as much natural resources as possible. This will...

ACHIEVEMENT IN LIFE

Image
Most of human achievements, if evaluated properly, can be found as imaginary. If someone says the sun can be hidden in a mustard seed, he will be called a ludicrous one. If that is so the modern science should be redefined as a ludicrous set of theories. According to the scientific theory of the beginning of the universe, this  universe comprising of countless numbers of galaxies consisting of billions of suns have originated from a tiny particle after a Big Bang. If that is so our sun, moon, stars etc can be packed in a mustard seed. That is what the Newton's third law says. After the expansion process cease at some point of time, it all will start a return journey. During the course of this journey that may take about an equal time of the outward journey. According to physical cosmology the astrophysicists suggest the present age of the universe is little below 15 billion years. It may keep expanding more or less similar time. Then the same it may travel to the Big Ba...

LET US MAKE USE OF THE POPULATION

Image
United Nations has announced on  November 15th 2022 that world population has crossed the 800 crores mark. While China is on top with 145.2 crores, India is just behind with 141.2 cores. (Now India has reached on top) Can we Indians take a relook to this great power? Let us realise this massive power for our economic growth. Why we Indians are remaining poor, though our India is rich? This is because of the uneven distribution of wealth. We can easily overcome this. Let us exploit all available resources by using all available manpower.  If we do this we can reach the top of the world in the shortest possible time. As said time and again, let us do all political activities during election only and afterwards both people and government should concentrate on the development of the people and the country as a whole. If strict vigil is maintained to eradicate corruption, safety is ensured for women nd children and education is ensured to the graduation level to the com...

FOUR POINTS FORMULA FOR OUR GREAT COUNTRY

Image
(Image courtesy,                        Shutterstock)     We  ourselves are doing our best for the stagnation of our country. Despite having all resources to take this nation to the forefront of the world we confine our knowledge and efforts to fill the minds of the people with promises with the help of loudspeakers. People of this country has already reached a state to ignore these assurance and guarantee of the ruling parties and the opposition parties. Being a common man from the 1.5 billion super force, these four points are being presented here for the consideration of the fellow beings.  1) Deploy   all idle manpower. We have plenty of land and there can be many things found under this land. At present many scientific means are there to find what are hidden below. If we can effectively use the satellites placed by ISRO we can find what are hidden unde...

THE POWER OF FAITH

Image
"If you will have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it shall move. And nothing will be impossible for you." (Mathew 17:19) This is the power of faith as revealed by Jesus Christ. Faith is so powerful because when man have faith, he is linked with God Almighty. The power from the Supreme One will flow to him uninterrupted. How many of us have faith in God? May be none. In order to display the faith in God one need not push away the mountain. Can he turn up down a small dry leaf lying  on the floor? No one may be there to do this. It is not a magic. Unbelievable results can be there if we have faith in God. If we have faith in the Supreme One we can heal the sick or feed the hungry. Jesus told us: "I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will be able to do what I did to this tree and even more." (Mathew 21:21) Lack of faith must be the reason for many to say that ...
