PLEASE DON'T DRIVE AWAY ENTREPRENEURS FROM KERALA

Image
(Image courtesy,                                  Shutterstock) (First published on 16.Februar2024) Kerala is notorious for its approach towards entrepreneurs. We have not only driven away many for one reason or the other. Let us understand the fact that this habit of ours have finally brought the state government to the present financial situation. If we could welcome all those came to our state to set up some industries the face look of the state would have been much different. We would not have faced this financial scarcity. Many of our youth would have got excellent employment opportunities and the state revenue would have been substantially increased. E-Manorama had a news report on 12th December that one NRI came from Ireland set up a modern restaurant and toddy bar in Kottayam with an employment potential of over 150 people both direct and indirect. Some people are trying ...

RELIGION PROMOTES CRIME

Image
Triveni Sangam, Allahabad, the confluence of three holy rivers; the Ganga, Yamuna and the legendary Saraswati. During the Kumb Mela Triveni witness the largest human gathering in the world. God Vishnu after Mahabharat in Dwaparayug said that in Kalyuga the people will be so violent that the world will merely be dark. So what is happening all around the world can be attributed to the impact of Kalyuga. In Hinduism there are 4 cycle of birth and death of universe. Satyug - Angels and humans with 100% peace. Pretyug - 75% peace and 25% violence. Ramayana occurred during this period. Dwaparayug - 50% peace and 50% violence.. Mahabharat happened during this period. Kalyug - 25% peace and 75% violence. Current time. Whichever may be the religion it does not consists of Angels and gods but filled with humans. They are prone to commit crimes all along. No impact of Sree Ram or Sree Krishna can be there. Crime rate in India 2020 - 487.8 per lakh 2021 - 445.9 per lakh 2022 - 422.2 pe...

INDIAN YOUTH SHOULD AWAKE

Image
India is a rich country. We have enough natural resources. We have more than enough manpower to exploit those. Unfortunately our successive governments, instead of bringing up the standard of living of the people, making more and more poor and illiterates here. It is high time that the people of the country should realise the situation and focus on raising our own standard of living. Under the present circumstances it may be difficult to unite the whole nation, however noble the purpose may be. Hence the educated youth of the country must unite ignoring all regional and cast complexes. All your actions should be against corruption only, because corruption is the prime enemy of the country today. You need not fight against any political parties, religious philosophies or regional ideologies. My dear young ones, you fight against corruption. If you can win the war and eradicate corruption from the country, you can certainly win the election and form the government as the coun...

INDIAN CRICKET, A STEEP FALL

Image
When we look at the history of Indian cricket of 93 years, it can be seen as a fairly balanced performance. During this period we have played 594 tests with 183 won and 186 lost and 224 drawn. While comparing this with the recent performance we can find 5 defeats in 7 matches. In the recent period we have tried 9 different captains. Yet we have reached nowhere. The IPL has been playing for 18 years since 2008. While analysing the recent performance we cannot say that the IPL has contributed anything worth for the Indian cricket. It may also be worth to point out that political penetrations in cricket arena too could not subscribe anything to cricket.  It is suggested therefore, to form a five members commission to fully evaluate the contemporary cricket and suggest ways and means to rejuvenate the various formats of Indian cricket. Suggested names of the commission: S/S Sunil Gavaskar, Gundappa Viswanath, Kapil Dev, Bishen Singh Bedi.and M.S.Dhoni. K V George

KERALA MAY ENHANCE THE INCOME AND BRING DOWN THE EXPENDITURE

Image
The  State of Kerala is passing through some of the worst times in it's financial history. The successive governments have not done anything considerable to enhance  the revenue of the state. For decades our revenue is primarily centred on taxes, liquor sales and lottery.9 Something is received from tourism too. We are practically more depended on loan that too without any available resources for repayment. If the reports are reliable the state of Kerala has a liability of 48 lakhs crores which is the highest among all states. Taxes imposed on people have almost reached an unbearable stage. Yet no measure is being taken to check the expenditure.  There are a number of Commissions active in the state with a good number of staff and with other administrative expenses. Some of these can be dispersed forth with. Traveling expenditure of ministers and other government staff may be brought down considerably. Expenditure towards entertainment by various offices can b...

REFORMATION OF CRIMINALS

Image
According  to a report by the Indian Express some time back 6.53 lakhs police cases were registered in Kerala in 2017. This must be the highest number in India at that time. As per the State Crime Records Bureau upto the third quarter of 2019 a total of 10,516 cases of atrocities against women were reported in our state of which 1,537 were rapes. Over 8100 prisinors are in Kerala jails now. These things do not sound good for the  state of Kerala. Thus goes the crime in our state. Some are caught and a few are punished. Some are imprisoned for a few months and others for a few years. Finally all come out of the prison gate. But almost all are coming out as harder criminals. They all develop criminal relations with all co-prisinors and continue to commit more and more crimes. There is no result oriented efforts made by the government to reform the criminals. There was a report in the media in the recent past about a motor bike thief who had stolen a good number of bikes....

RELIGIONS VERSUS ATHEISM; AN UNBELIEVABLE OUTCOME

In  a worldly aspect, every religion has a common outlook. That is, every religion advocates to treat others with love, kindness and respect as we would like to be treated by others. WHAT IS BEHIND HUMAN KILLINGS IN INDIA?

Image
The lowest reported homicide rate in the world is 0.2 per one lakh and the highest are El Salvador with 82.84 and Honduras with 56.52. Major factors contribute high rate of murder in a country are corruption among the authorities, poor rate of weapon control and a flawed system of justice. Countries with lowest homicide rate are, Japan (0.2), Singapore (0.2), Hong Kong (0.3), Luxembourg (0.3) and Indonesia (0.4). In the highest rate category, after El Salvador and Honduras are Venezuela (56.33), Virgin Islands (49.26) and Jamaica (47.02) are on top. Among the major countries, the rates are, Russia (10.82), USA (5.35), India (3.22), Canada (1.68), France (1.35), UK (1.20), Germany (1.18), Australia (0.94), Italy (0.67) and China (0.62) Let us now focus on India. In India the number of homicides fell from 48,167 in 2000 to 46,460 in 2010, 44,373 in 2015 and 42,678 in 2016. Some of us may think that in a country like ours such amount of homicides are not much. On the other han...

THERE IS ONLY ONE MAN IN THE WHOLE WORLD!

Image
All  put together, there is only one man in the world, taking all living and dead. It is neither a fantasy nor an imagination but a truth. According to Hinduism sage Manu was the first man came into this world. Matsya Purana says that Lord Brahma had union with Goddess Shatrupa (Saraswati) and out of the union of them Manu was born. And he is believed to be the first man created on earth as per Hinduism. As per Old Testament, God created the first man on earth was Adam.  "And then the Lord God formed man from the clay of the earth, and He breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul " (Genesis 2:7).  "... And he called their name Adam, in the day when they were created." (Genesis 5:2) Modern science says something totally different about the formation of the world and whatever in it. Science explain this through the Big Bang Theory. It says that a tiny particle was formed first and it exploded and from that all those in the uni...

CAN THE PEOPLE OF INDIA UPLIFT THE COUNTRY?

Image
Before answering this question we must know what is the power of the people in this largest democracy of the world. Democracy in India is established on four pillars like legislature, executive, judiciary and media. These four pillars are beleived to be resting on the 'largest area of land' called the great Indian population. If we study the nature of land for over 75 years we may find that it has become a marshy land. Now we must put all out efforts to remove the water from this land and make it a levelled, strong and dry land where all the four pillars can be strongly erected. Whenever weakness was noticed in the pillars there were three external forces that were terribly influenced to spoil the land. First of these three damaging factors is excessive and aimless politics. As per the publication of Election Commission of India dated 23.09.2021, there were 2858 parties registered with the Commission including 6 national parties, 57 regional parties and 2796 unrecog...

LET US TRY TO BRING THE BLACK MONEY INTO CIRCULATION

Image
The  money which is not brought into the books of Income Tax department is said to be black money. In fact we do not have any accurate account of this money available in the country. It is the aftermath of the historically recognised ways and means of corruption. However as per various estimation the amount is considerably varied. When one estimation shows it is over Rs 900 lakh crores, another shows it is over $10 trillion that is held illegally in Switzerland. In an unconfirmed report of the World Bank says it is about 20% of our GDP. The currency  in circulation as on 23 December 2022 is Rs 32.4 lakh crores. Part of this is being added to the black account every year. If our government can take the risk of an earnest effort to account for the black money and bring into the use of the people of the country, India can make a quantum leap in the economic front. The government may select the following fronts for investment under a new scheme exclusively devised for ...

GOD IS THE ONE MOST MISINTERPRETED

Image
In  order to learn more about plants, one goes to the teachers of Botany, for machinary to the Mechanical Engineers and to know about our own body, we go to the appropriate Doctors. Surprisingly, to learn about the Almighty God, the Creator of everything in this universe we go generally to an illiterate or an unconcerned person. Most of us do not know much about a mosquito or an ant. Many of us do not know about our own body system. Highly qualified Psychologists and Neuroscientists cannot say much about human mind. Despite these facts, when it comes to God, anyone may speak everything about God, as if they know all about God. It is because God is so simple for them. For those, religion is the science of God. In modern India, those who have political status is considered as the authorised one to speak about God and religion. We Indians have a treasure of knowledge stored in the four Vedas and the ten principal Upanishads from the 108 books. These great boo...

DEAR POLITICIANS, KNOW WHAT THE PEOPLE OF INDIA NEED?

Image
Village houses in India  There may be very few politicians who can say what their fellow Indians urgently need now.  What is offered by some are God, temple, Pooja and so on. Those who are not in politics may better suggest the real need of the people of this country. The reader may please assess the genuineness of these needs. Eradication of all kinds of corruption including monetory corruption from our country for ever. Ensure GDP per capita income of our country is brought up to the level of economically advanced countries of the world. Poverty level of our country must be recasted to the same level of economically advanced countries and then ensure that no one in India lives below that line. India is a country with least safety for women. We must ensure total safety for women anywhere in this country. We should also stop domestic violence in any house in our motherland. We must exploit as much natural resources a...

LARGE NUMBERS OF WOMEN AND GIRLS MISSING FROM INDIA

Image
According to a news report appeared in Malayala Manorama dated 31 July 2023, 13.13 lakhs women and children are missing from India during the years 2019,2020 and 2021.  Out of these 22,799 are from the most literate state of the country, Kerala. And the people's government is now ruling the state. The most pathetic state is that neither the central government nor the state governments give due significance for this issue. We have many agencies to find the missing people like the police, CBI, IB, etc. I don't know whether the government may say that all these agencies are not meant for this silly issue. The poeple and the government should know that there are 67 countries in the world with a population  less than 13 lakhs, the number of the missing people. In other words, the missing numbers are more than the population of these much countries, it should have been received great attention from all over the world. Maybe because of our large population we are practica...

According to a report by the Wikipedia some Muslim communities in China face legal restrictions on their ability to practice. Since 2017 Chinese government is accused of detaining more than million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in internment camps in Xinjiang and conducting forceful assimilation to suppress their cultural and religious identity. According to Sarah Cook, Senior Research Analyst of Freedom House for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, "After 2009, everything changed. Now the rule is, if I go to your house, read some Quran, pray together, and the governm...

'I AM THE KNOWLEDGE'

Image
According to Oxford Dictionary the meaning of the word knowledge is: 'Facts, information and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject', or awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation. Most people living today are spending a good share of their lives to acquire knowledge. Here comes a question. Does knowledge have any limit? The storage capacity of human brain has limit, but the knowledge as it is, is unlimited. Science says that the observable diameter of the universe is 93 billion light years. All knowledge man can reach is comprised here. Science says that the universe came up to the present gigantic state from a tiny particle. When that is the fact, all these unmeasurable knowledge was contained in that tiny particle. The sun, moon, stars and all life forms or the time , space and matter were came into existence from that tiny particle must be the Almighty God. If that God is...

SHEER IMAGINATION

Image
Who are you? No one can give the right answer to this question. Instead of answering this question one may comment on others like this; 'he is bad', 'he is useless' etc. With what knowledge and under what authority one makes such comments? He himself cannot answer.                   ************* There they identified a big black rock. They brought a good sculptor to carve an idol for the temple. He carved the rock into the desired shape and placed in the temple for worship. Then some of the remaining rock was cut into shape as foot steps at the entrance of the temple. The remaining rock was used to make a public toilet in the temple. It is the part of the same single rock that is placed for three different purposes. We too are like the same. One may be a ruler of a country, other may be a scavenger or a trader or a police man or a thief or with umpteen other brands name.                 ...

EXPORT OF ELECTRIC CARS FROM INDIA

Image
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd is the largest car manufacturers of India.  It is the subsidiary of Japan's Suzuki Motors. Maruti have produced over two million cars in India in 2024. They are also one of the largest ten car manufacturers in the world. However, the company has not yet marketed any electric cars so far. Their first rlectric car Maruti e-Vitara is expected to be launched in December 2025. Due to the high price of petrol and the atmosphere pollution caused by the petroleum fuel people from different countries prefer electric vehicles. Of course, the running expenditure too is much less than perol vehicles. These things made higher demand for electric vehicles. EV sales was growing 43% in 2020 than 2019. In 2021 EV sales doubled from 2020 to 75 million. In 2022 it exceed by 10 million. In 2023 global sales exceeded by over 14 million with an increase of 35%. In 2024 over 17 millions EVs sold globally which exceeds a 20% sales growth. The first quarter of 2025 witnes...

INDIA NEED UNITY AMONG PEOPLE

Image
We  have enough natural resources, more than enough manpower and we have fairly good infrastructure too. Surprisingly we are unable to interact these properly for the benifit of about 1.5 billion people.  India is the fourth largest economy in the world and likely to move up a step or two shortly. However, as per Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2022, India ranked 107 out of 121 countries listed. Why the people are poor when the nation is rich? The answer must be simple; the resources, the infrastructure and the people are not co-ordinated properly. Many of our political parties do not put their best efforts to unite the people across the country. On the other hand they try their level best to disintegrate the people in the name of region, language, religion and political affiliation. We have already seen the adverse effects of this in different parts of the country in different times.  Those who add fuel in the fire do not seem to have known the consequences. In fac...

PRESENT INDIA minus POLITICS minus RELIGION = PROSPEROUS AND PEACEFUL INDIA

Image
According to PEW Research Centre, using  data has estimated that in 2021 there were  134 million people in India had income of $2 or below per day. Another report by Sr Sai Manish of Business Standard updated on April 17, 2020 stated that as per the World Bank bench mark of poverty line $3.2 per day, 60% of Indian population or 812 million people are below poverty line in India. If these figures are right, the so called poor have only one question to ask to the governments one after the other. "Why we are not given opportunity to work and earn for our food and wellbeing?" Every successive government that ruled the country right from independence, except the first four or five governments, is bound to answer this question. Despite having adequate resources to feed them stomach full, leaving them hungry is serious error by our rulers one after the other. Instead of rectifying the errors we only try to find the faults of the earlier government...

COMMEDY OF ERRORS

Image
Parents send their children to schools and colleges for education. They wish the children  should have a good future. Children happily reach their respective institutions well in time. Whether they study or what they study are of no concern of most of the parents. Political parties have all the liberty to stop teaching and pull out the students from class rooms. While Netherlands, Luxembourg, Iceland, USA, Australia, Italy etc are giving highest amount of old age pension, India gives a much lower amount as pension for old age people except those retired from government service. Further to this a huge sum of old people are not getting any pension at all. Corruption is rampant all over the country. Since it is such a huge sum, people cannot count or estimate, they are least bothered about corruption. God may be a political commodity here. In 2011 census India had over four lakhs beggars. Since begging has been converted to a profession the numbers involved in begging is a...

IS DEMOCRACY AN IMAGINARY CONCEPT?

Image
Practically what is observed in a democratic system is that the common man or more refined to say the citizen is nothing but a vote casting machine. He has no role in decision making, formation of law or implementation the law. He does not have any voice anywhere. If he finds something goes wrong, he cannot practically correct the same. When corruption takes place all around, this common man deemed to have moved away unnoticed. If he spot the error of the elected and highlight the same he may even be eliminated. He cannot pinpoint any activities of corruption if found in the legislature, executive or the judiciary. He may be put behind bars. That is the so called democracy and the related freedom of expression. There is more comody in the democracy than we think. It is presumed that in a democratic system the people elect their representatives to rule them. The people are construed as the masters and the elected representatives are said to be their servants. In reality all ...

CONCEPT OF HELL IN HINDUISM AND IN CHRISTIANITY

Image
Hindu Concept Narak (Sanskrit) is the equivalent for hell in Hinduism. This is the place where sinners are tormented after death according to their doings when they lived in this earth. It is described as located in the south of the universe and beneath the earth. This is the abode of Yama the god of death. There is also a belief that there are 28 types of hells. According to the intensity of the sins committed, hells are selected for different sinners. Hindus believe that no one is sent to the hell permanently. After the prescribed duration of stay in the hell the soul is sent back to earth for another term of life in a superior or inferior form than the earlier life as per the current status. Nowhere in the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna said, heaven or hell is permanent. Krishna also did not say that those who disobey him would end up in hell. Chapter two of the Bhagavad Gita also says; for soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not c...

THERE IS NOTHING OTHER THAN TRUTH IN THIS WORLD

Image
When I say that this world is full of truth, nothing other than truth can be found anywhere, it may be bit confusing for you to believe. On the other hand you may even say that the world is full of untruth or falsity. Now I am raising it by saying that there is no untruth or falsity in the whole universe. Now I am asking you to show me one thing that is not true but false. You may search all over the world to find something that is not true. God has created everything as true only. The words untruth, false, falsity etc have no meaning at all. There is only truth; nothing other than truth in this whole world. Untruth is nothing but a human imagination. Yet, man believe in all imaginary false things and run behind it and suffer a lot. Even animals don't believe in the artificially created falsehood. K V George
