MUSLIMS IN CHINA UNDERGO HUGE SUFFERINGS

There is an estimated 28 million Muslims in China. Hui Muslims are found to be the largest group. The biggest concentration of Muslims are found in Xinjiang, which contains Uyghur population. According to available data China has the 11th largest Muslim population in the world. According to a report by the Wikipedia some Muslim communities in China face legal restrictions on their ability to practice. Since 2017 Chinese government is accused of detaining more than million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in internment camps in Xinjiang and conducting forceful assimilation to suppress their cultural and religious identity. According to Sarah Cook, Senior Research Analyst of Freedom House for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, "After 2009, everything changed. Now the rule is, if I go to your house, read some Quran, pray together, and the government finds out, you go to jail." As per another information given by Barna, an Uyghur woman from Xinjiang province and now living in USA: "The video of a young Hui girl reciting Quran verses has drawn a gasp from the public ... The education department of Gansu Province strongly condemns the act that harms the mental health of the youth, and demands educational agencies... to strictly ban religion from campuses."

Since Xi Jinping became the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, a good number of restrictions have imposed on both Hui and Uyghur group of Muslims. Consequent upon these, violent clashes were erupted by Uyghur group against police, pro-Beijing religious leaders and civilians. Police have opened fire against such clashes. Muslims are neither allowed to come up with any protests in China, however peaceful it may be. And under no circumstances they are able to do any subversive act in China as done by many other countries.

However, suppression of the Muslims by the Chinese government do not raise any protests from any Muslim nations. On the other hand, countries like Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Egypt and Pakistan are moving hand in glove with China. Alas, even God and religion may be foregone in front of Communist power!
