BOY RECOGNISED PHOTO OF HIS PREVIOUS BIRTH

Image
Here   it is a real life story of rebirth. Ryan was a four years old boy living in Oklahoma, USA. During midnights the boy used to scream and shout. He was somehow acting like a film man. When the nuisance became too much he was taken to a psychiatrist. The doctor just told the parents that he would outgrow it soon. One day Ryan told his mother: " Mama, I think I used to be someone else." He said he remembered a big white House and swimming pool. That was in Hollywood. He said he had three sons. He couldn't remember their names. He kept crying for he could not remember the names of his sons. His mother was much upset over all these. She started searching in the internet about reincarnation and about specific cases about Hollywood. One day Ryan and his mum were going through  one Hollywood book. Ryan suddenly stopped at a black and white still taken from a 1930s movie. Two men in the centre of the picture  were confronting one another. Four other men surrounded

MY GOD AND YOUR GOD

Image
(Image of Big Bang) My God is certainly different from your God. It is not our religious faith that determines the shape, strength and qualities of our God but it is our knowledge, wisdom, maturity and age that contribute the making of our God. While we all, or most of us, believe that man is created by God, it can be said with equal stress that God is created by man. It is the fundamental belief that God is beyond any shape, size or colour but we cannot imagine a God of this nature. Hence we create a God within our brain with a shape, mostly that of man. While some make the shape the fairest, others make it horrible looking. Size and colour varies according to individual imagination. These imagination, however, made to look like truth in course of time. It is like God appearing to man in the form of man, to lion in the form of lion, to crow in the form of crow and to fish in the form of fish etc. Despite the advancement of science to these days level, man

NUMEROLOGY AND SOME FACTS

Image
Numerology is a belief about the mystical relationship between a number and  people  or establishment and one or more coinciding events. It is also the study of the numerical value of letters, words, names etc. In ordinary terms numerology is a study of numbers in our lives. Numerologists believe that we can uncover much about the world, the people concerned about us, the events that take place around us etc. Numerology believes that this universe is a system comprising of basic elements and these elements are numbers and study of the numbers can reveal many things for us. The origin of numerology can be traced back to Egypt, Babylon, China, Japan, Rome and Greece. There are historical evidence about the existence of numerology in these places thousands of years ago. The modern day numerology is credited to the Greek philosopher Pythagoras. However, there is no theoretical support behind this. Dr Julian Stenton is the real person who coined the term numerology. IS SPIRIT A REALITY?

Image
From time immemorial man have been hearing stories about haunting by the spirits of the dead ones. There are many near real stories about our past ones from all over the word. Innumerable number of books can be found about haunted places like ordinary houses, palaces, cemeteries, ponds, gardens public roads etc. Many cinemas and tv serials have made on this subject. However, it is not known whether any authentic studies made on this haunted subjects and the results published. There are many theories within the paranormal field as to why places are haunted and why some places are more haunted than others. Here are some strange stories of ghosts. The army quarters in Srinagar is said to be a haunted place. Floating ghostly apparitions were seen here by many. They appear for a few seconds only and then fade away. During the apparitions they produce some strange sounds and emit light. These mysterious figures are seen between 1.00 am and 3.00 am. Local people believe these are

PREMATURE OBITUARIES

Image
Tanya Roberts  the Hollywood actress came through the 1985 Bond film "A View to a Kill" and later appeared in the sitcom "That 70s Show" was mistakenly reported as dead in January 2021. This was confirmed by her publicist and manager but retracted a day after. Bob Hope   the film legend's death was announced five years prematurely in 1998 when a prewritten obituary was accidentally published on the Associated Press website. This wrong report of death was then announced by the US House of Representatives. Britney Spears and friend Justin Timberlake was wrongly reported to have died in a car accident in 2001. Steve Jobs the Apple founder's death was announced three years before the death in 2008. The 17 page long report was accidentally published and great impact among the Wall Street investors. Jackie Chan's  death was reported in the social media in 2011 but came the correction in his facebook page: "Jackie is alive and well." Barac

AMERICAN PRESIDENTS DIED IN OFFICE EVERY 20 YEARS

(John F. Kennedy)   William Henry Harrison (elected in 1840), Abraham Lincoln (1860), James A. Garfield (1880), William McKinley (1900), Warren G. Harding (1920), Franklin D. Roosevelt (1940) and John F. Kennedy (1960) were the Presidents of America died in the office in the 20 year presidential curse. Further to these abnormal happenings at the regular intervals, Ronald Reagan (1980) was precariously wounded by gunshot but survived. George W. Bush (2000) too was survived an assassination attempt. Thomas Jefferson (1800) and James Monroe (1820) outlived the supposed curse. The American psychic and astrologer Jean Dixon foretold the presidency of JF Kennedy as he only was to be killed in the immediate future as 1960 was a death year for American president. This is now part of history and many people know about it. These deaths cannot be seen as mere coincidences. Everything in this universe takes place as per natural law. For anything to happen there must

KOHLI Vs RAHANE

Image
Just concluded test series between India and Australia loudly spoken that Ajinkya Rahane is a winning captain. He is not only a lucky captain but also played well to snatch the amazing victory. It may however be unjust to compare Rahane with Kohli. Despite all said and done, a captain who has finished a series on a winning note  should be allowed another opportunity in the English series. Kohli being a high ranking international cricketer may also willingly approve this suggestion. Of course, Rahane is not to be compared with Kohli in batting or in performance as captain. Since Rahane is on a winning streak it would be better if Kohli himself may opt out of captaincy for the English tour. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

IS PALMISTRY A SCIENCE?

Image
Palmistry  was widely prevalent as early as BC in India, China, Persia, Tibet and more countries. However the question whether palm reading is accurate and it is recognised as any sort of science is an unanswered question. Palm reading is not learnt from book alone but from experience of reading many palms. There are many line on our palms. These lines are classified as life line, fate line, head line, heart line, sun line, mercury line, girdle of Venus etc. Researchers believe that our hands provide a "fossilized record" of our early development and also provide future insight. The ring finger's length, it is believed that indicates exposure to prenatal testosterone.  Ring finger of a man if found longer than the index finger, he is more likely to be athletic and have more children. If the index finger is longer he is more likely to have heart disease and schizophrenia. Symmetrical hands suggest good genes and attractiveness. Simian Crease is the horizontal l

KERALA STATE ROAD TRANSPORT CORPN

Image
A Public Sector Transport Corpn falling deep into loss left uncared by the authorities. The only solution generally found to overcome loss  is  to increase the passenger fare. No other way could be found by the management. They never think to bring down the expenses. For instance, the mileage obtained per liter diesel for KSRTC buses is only around 3.5 KM/Ltr. Whereas, buses of other states exceed this up to 7KM.. This corporation maintains a workforce of about 5.5 men per bus. Can it not be brought down? Should the commuters pay for unwanted people employed? Can we not try to discard the trade unions which always fight for the comfort of their own workers, not for the passengers or even for the existence of the corporation. Whether the management or the trade union are trying to milk the unfed cow. Someone some day should bell the cat. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

PLACE WHERE JUDAS DIED

Image
(Potter's field in Jerusalem. Newly constructed monastery is also seen) Potter's field is "Akeldama" in Aramaic meaning field of blood, which was purchased with the thirty coins paid to Judas Iscariot for identifying Jesus Christ. This has a reference to Zechariah 11:12-13 of the Old Testament. Mathew 27:1-10 says that after learning that Jesus was to be crucified, Judas attempted to return the money he had been paid for his betrayal to the chief priests and committed suicide by hanging. Scholars traced back the writing of Zechariah to 6th century BC. This clearly indicates that six hundred years prior to the actual happening, the betrayal was in the scriptures of the Bible. The Acts 1:18-19 narrates the death of Judas. "With the price of his treachery this man came into possession of a field; and afterwards, when he fell from a height, and his belly burst open so that he was disembowelled, all Jerusalem heard of it, and the field came to be called

MOST INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES OF THE MOST INSPIRATIONAL ONES

(Thomas Alva Edison) Great people have said many things great. We will go through some great quotes of those great ones. "The greatest glory in livimg lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Nelson Mandela "If you set your goal ridiculously high and it's a failure, you will fail above everyone else's success." James Cameron "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." Mother Teresa "Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else." Margaret Mead "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Benjamin Franklin "It is during the darkest moments that we must focus to see the light." Aristotle "Whoever is happy will make others happy too." Anne Frank "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Ralph Waldo Emerson "You wi

SOME SUPERSTITIONS IN THE WORLD

Image
There  are many superstitions all over the world. We shall go through some of those.  It is seen as bad luck to trim the nails at night. This superstition is very strong in Turkey, India and South Korea. Japanese however are little beyond this. They believe that this will cause premature death. There is reason behind this superstition. In the earlier time when oil lamps were used, sharp objects used to trim nails during nights can cause injuries and infections. In the absence of timely medical aid, things may worsen and could lead to death. Whistling indoors may lead to financial problems in Russia and it may cause rain in Norway. Sitting at the corner of the table is bad luck  in Russia and Hungary. Those who sit allegedly remain unmarried for seven years. Potential dirtiness aside, resting of  purse or wallet on the ground will lead to bad financial luck in some Central and South American countries as well as in Philippines. Sitting directly on the cold ground can lead to

WHY IS 'ALEXANDER THE GREAT'?

Image
Alexander the Great   was the king of Macedonia (336-323 bce). He overthrew the Persian Empire, carried Macedonian arms to India, and laid the foundations for the Hellenistic world of territorial kingdoms. He later became the hero of a full-scale legend bearing only the sketchiest resemblance to his historical career. Alexander conquered the countries including Anatolia, Syria, Phoenicia, Judea, Gaza, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Persia and Bactria and extended the boundaries of his own empire as far as Taxila and the present Pakistan. The title Alexander the Great was inherited by Alexander III when he conquered the Persian Empire and the epithet eventually became personally associated with him. In 15 years of conquest Alexander never lost a battle. Some notable things in the life of Alexander are, he was taught by Aristotle. He named more than 70 cities after himself and one after his horse. When Alexander met his future wife Roxanne, it was love at first sight. Alexander even sme

HOW OUIJA BOARD WORKS

Image
In February 1891 , the first few advertisements started appearing in papers: "Ouija, the Wonderful Talking Board", boomed a Pittsburgh toy and novelty shop, describing a magical device that answered questions, "about the past, present and future with marvelous accuracy." Price $1.50. Ouija Board is a flat board with letters of the alphabet arrayed in two semi-circles above the numbers 0 through 9; the words "yes" and "no" in the uppermost corners, "good bye" at the bottom; accompanied by a "planchette", a teardrop-shaped device, usually with a small window in the body, used to maneuver about the board. Christian religious groups still remain wary of the board, citing scripture denouncing communication with spirits through mediums. In early 1990s the sale of the boards were suddenly fell down with the beliefs that Ouija Boards were spooky rather than spiritual. Scientific explanation is that the Ouija Boards rely on

POLITICAL AUTOCRACY

Image
Though  we Indians prefer to call ourselves as the largest democracy in the world, innately we find we are wrong. The fundamental principles of democracy is: 'The government of the people, by the people and for the people.' While we can ratify the first two parts, we are reluctant to endorse the third one. According to the system prevailing we only can elect a person to rule us. How he rules us is not our game. All options for ruling goes to the elected one and a few of his party members. In reality the state or the country can be ruled at the will of the few of the political parties who have secured the majority.  If our media is right, we find a good number of cases of murder, financial swindling, cheating and many such crimes. Those who are at the helm of affairs of power can make any amount of money through illegal channels and get scot free. Though there are enough evidence to question one to find the source of the wealth one amassed the concerned authorities n

THREE HEARTS AND NINE BRAINS!

Image
Three hearts, nine brains and blue blood! Not a man, but an octopus. Two hearts pump blood to the gills and the third to the body. In addition to the central brain each of 8 arms has a mini brain that allows it to act independently. Octopuses have blue blood to adapt to cold, low oxygen water by using hemocyanin, a copper rich protein. One strange thing is that an octopus doesn't know where it's arm is unless it can see it. The arm is sending signals about tastes and textures but no details about location and orientation. In our bodies we have an ability called proprioception that lets us know where our arms are even if they are out of sight. We can scratch our back with precision because we know where our hand is relative to our back. We carry a fixed map of our body in our brain, but that would be impossible for an octopus, since their body shape is so fluid and constantly changing. Another interesting thing about having eight arms covered with suckers

SUPERSTITION AMONG AMERICANS

Image
Despite  being scientifically and technologically one of the most advanced societies in the world Americans too succumb to superstitions. Some researchers have surveyed over 2000 people and found that 40% of them consider themselves superstitious. As in many parts of the world black cats considered to have bring bad luck by crossing the road in front of you. If a black cat showed up in their path many would return home. Knocking on woods is another thing. Something harder and harder to do in a modern home is practised by over 32% people. According to Pagan traditions  many believed that helpful spirits are resided in certain trees. When we touch that tree we are asking for protection from those spirits. Mediaeval churches would often kept wood claimed to be from the Cross itself. By touching the wood, churchgoers would believe that they made out a link to the divine and they would have good luck. Bad news comes in threes, don't walk under a ladder, don't break a mir

WHAT IS LUCK?

Image
According to Oxford dictionary Luck means: Success or failure apparently brought by chances rather than through one's own actions. This definition indicate that luck is nothing but a mystical conception. Luck is used as s weapon to defend one's own defeats and stain others success.  It is also used as a cover for our failures. The story of a poor Indian priest well defines luck. The poor priest had ardent faith in the deity of the temple, Lord Siva. He prayed continuously for wealth but nothing came out. He then thought that he must suggest his God how to give him huge wealth. He had changed his prayer and asked the Lord to give him the wealth by  first prize of a lottery. The prayer continued but no fortune came to him. One day, during the prayer, the priest heard a voice from the sanctum sanctorum, " My son, at least you buy one lottery ticket before praying for the first prize."  Luck is also something like this. We expect that luck will bring all fort

PANAMA CANAL A MODERN ENGINEERING WONDER

Image
Panama Canal  is a man made water way in Panama with a length of 82 km connecting Atlantic Ocean with Pacific Ocean. It takes about 8 to 10 hours for the ship to reach Pacific Ocean through the canal. The French company started the construction of the canal in 1881 but stopped later due to engineering constraints. US company took over the work in 1904 and opened the canal for traffic in 1914. The canal was independently managed by US until 1977. Then US jointly with Panama managed the canal upto 1999 and then onwards the government owned Panama Canal Authority is managing the operation of the canal. The most dismal aspect pertains to the canal is 5609 people died there during the construction period due to accidents, disease etc. The average toll per ship to pass through the canal is $1,50,000. Large ships have to pay much above this. Over 15,000 ships pass through the canal every year. The American Society of Civil Engineers has ranked the Panama Ca
