KASHMIR - AN INTEGRAL PART OF INDIA

Every Indian chant every now and then since the formation of India that Kashmir is the integral part of India. Finally when the BJP government has taken the decision and complied with the constitutional provisions to officially announce as Kashmir is the integral part of India a section of political parties are raising voice against this.  BJP government might have taken decisions earlier which are not congenial to most of the people and, therefore, to many political parties too. It does not mean that any decisions taken by them are to be sharply opposed.

Since it is known to every Indian, I do not want discuss about the history of Indian independence and the formation of Kashmir and the special status given to it under the provision of article 370 of the constitution. However it cannot be ignored that the independent status to this Indian state was born out of a few individuals. Subsequently our neighbour put every effort to turn this status to their favour. They tried to communalise the situation and went to the extent of open conflicts with us a number of times. Even though they could not succeed in any of this they tried to make illegal claims and tried to divide the people of Kashmir. Of late, China has  made friendship with Pakistan for their own interests and tried to induce  them to keep nuisance with us. As a result of this friendship, China could open their silk route, an international highway through the disputed PoK. In fact China want a free access over PoK. China might have persuaded  Pak PM to have a meeting with American President recently to get him involved in the Kashmir issue. They may try to stretch the issue to UN too. It seems that if PoK is given to Pak, which means to China, Pakistan's scratches will be subsided for the time being. Poor Pakistanis fail to understand that they are surrendering themselves to China.

Since the international consequences are something else and those have not arised out of our internal matters, that should be seen separately. The most important aspect needs to be considered is that whether any Indians, either from Kashmir or any other states of India has any adverse impact by revoking article 370. If they have any, let them speak it out rather than beating the wind.

In fact this decision should have taken decades ago. I would like to congratulate the Modi Sarkar for taking this decision now.
