DEMOCRATIC BANKING SCANDAL

Banking scandal has become almost a daily news. Those who have taken away huge sum from the tax share of the common man, those have been paid handsomely for the safe custody of the money, those who are heavily paid for the audit of the bank accounts, those who are sitting at the helm of affairs of the banks, those who are steering from the apex bank and those who are elected by the people to supervise the whole proceedings most honestly are all to be held responsible in this matter. Now, who are to be punished and what should be the punishment is to be decided by the people together with the judiciary. The media should update the people with timely and factual reports. There is no meaning in giving the matter back to the politicians to conduct an enquiry and report to the people. If the people fail to wake up to the call more disastrous things shall take place repeatedly.

There is no meaning in accusing a person or party for this. It is the deficiency and the shortcoming of the prevailing system; that we call democracy. Until we restructure the damaged system there cannot be an escape from similar happenings. Instead of moving around the politicians to their beck and call we must discuss among ourselves to find an alternative for the vitiated system called democracy or else we shall certainly be in peril.
