COUNTRIES DEFEATED COVID19

Image
The following  small countries were attacked by Covid 19 and taken the lives of some people too. Atleast some of these countries do not have adequate resources to fight with the deadly disease. Yet they could eradicate the pandemic before causing heavy damages. Our health experts and politicians may study the matter deeply and find out whether there is anything that can be adopted by us. There is no any Covid patients in these countries now. CORONAVIRUS - LIFE SPAN

Image
Coronavirus Life span Research published in the New England Journal of Medicine conducted by American scientists suggests that the new coronavirus (Covid 19) can live in the air for several hours and on some surfaces for as long as 2-3 days. They tested the virus by spraying into the air by a nebulizer mimicking the coughing action of an infected person. They found that it could be detected up to a minimum of  3 hours later in the air, up to 4 hours on copper surfaces, up to 24 hours on cardboard and 2-3 days on plastic and stainless steel surfaces. The longevity of the virus was determined by studying the decay time or half-life of the virus, which is the time taken for it to reduce in 50% of tissue culture infectious dose per litre of air. It was determined that the virus stayed on cardboard, stainless steel and plastic for the longest period, in comparison to copper and aerosol droplets. On average, the half-life of the virus on plastic surface was the highest, with an a

FACTS ABOUT CORONAVIRUS

Image
Given  below are the basic facts about coronavirus. Symptoms Fever, cough, sore throat headache to pneumonia and also difficulty in breathing. Recovery time Clinical recovery for mild cases is approximately two weeks and three to six weeks for severe cases. Can the virus transmitted through food? Contract through food is highly unlikely. Transmission through direct contact with respiratory droplets by coughs or sneezes. Catch the virus from feces The risk of catching the virus from feces of infected persons appears to be low. The virus may be present in the feces in some cases. Alcohol drinking Consumimg alcohol will not destroy the virus. Alcohol consumption is likely to increase the health risk. Alcohol act as a disinfectant on the skin but no such effect within the system when ingested. Is smoking a risk factor? Smoking is a risk factor in many respiratory infections. The disease can be more severe to smokers. Transmission in hot or humid climates From the evidence so fa

EFFICACY OF EXPECTED COVID19 VACCINE

Image
Many of us think that the society may come to normal when the Covid 19 vaccine becomes available. According to scientists different vaccines may offer different levels of protection. It depends on the vaccine's efficacy or effectiveness. If 100 people who have not been exposed to the virus are given a vaccine that has an efficacy of 80%, that means that an average of 80 of them would not get infected. The difference between efficacy and effectiveness is that the former applies when vaccination is given under controlled circumstances, like a clinical trial,  and the latter is under 'real world' conditions. Typically, a vaccine's effectiveness tends to be lower than its efficacy. In an epidemic or pandemic, as more people are exposed to the virus, the number of new infections per day steadily increases until it reaches a peak and begins to drop. However how long it takes depends upon how the virus and the response to it may evolve over time. To stop the pandem

COVID19 PREVENTION BY SELF IMPOSED METHODS

Image
(The following are the abstract from article published in the journal of PLOS MEDICINE) A modelling study findings on the impact of self-imposed prevention measures and short-term government-imposed social distancing on mitigating and delaying a Covid19 epidemic. The study suggests that information dissemination about Covid19, which causes individual adoption of handwashing, mask-wearing and social distancing can be an effective strategy to mitigate and delay the epidemic. Early initiated short-term government-imposed social distancing can buy time for health care systems to prepare for an increasing Covid19 burden. We stress the importance of disease awareness in controlling the on going epidemic and recommended that, in addition to policies on social distancing, governments and public health institutions mobilize people to adopt self-imposed measures with proven efficacy in order to successfully tackle Covid 19. The study was conducted to help the public health policy mak

IDENTIFICATION AND ISOLATION

Image
Despite  commendable efforts by the state and central governments Covid19 infection is considerably mounting in India. The state of Kerala too is not an exception. Though the number was less in the early stage it is increasing day by day in Kerala. At current pace the state may come in par with other highly infected states shortly. Since there is no vaccine to prevent or medicine to cure the deadly disease,  the whole world is doing experiments with the pandemic to stay alive. Masks, sanitization, personal distancing etc are more recognised methods. Before the pandemic is mounting further another experiment is suggested here. Select one highest affected Taluk of each district of Kerala.  After giving two days notice, declare a total lock down for two weeks for these taluks. Arrange to test the entire population of the taluk in shortest possible time. Shift the infected to the hospital immediately. While no one will be allowed to go out or come in to the taluk, in any exclus

COVID MANAGEMENT

Image
The start was excellent. Kerala was placed on top of the world in Covid management. Something went wrong during the midway. People came from outside might be the cause of the high number of today. In fact the prime reason for the spread is nothing but the free roaming of the infected people. The only thing to contain this to increase the test and Isolation of all suspected cases. There is no short cut to get over the pandemic. The only way is, Identify and Isolate.  If we do not adhere to this, the spread may be faster. This has been experienced the world over. Wherever strict Isolation were arranged there came down the number of infection quite fast. If we are going to count the money first the pandemic may become beyond our control. COVID VACCINE

Image
There  are reports that vaccine for Covid 19 are getting ready in different countries. Oxford vaccine The first set of results from early stage clinical trials of the Oxford University Covid 19 show it is safe and induces immune reaction. The results from Oxford were followed by Indian vaccine manufacture Serum Institute announcing it would seek regulatory approvals for clinical trials in India and soon start manufacturing the vaccine in large volumes. Indian vaccine Human dosing of the vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech India in collaboration with ICMR's National Institute of Virology also started with the vaccine being given to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna and Pandit Bhagawat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical at Rohtak in Haryana. AIIMS Delhi is among the 12 sites selected by the ICMR for conducting phase I and II human trials of Covaxin. In phase I, the vaccine would be tested on 375 volunteers and a maximum of 100 of them would be fr

MOST CRUEL LEADERSHIP OF CHINA

Image
(Bodies of the Chinese youth at the Tianenman Square massacre) Most  people in the world do not know that we all are in a precarious situation created by China. China is now challenging even US for a trial of strength. According to various reports US warships are deployed at different locations aiming China. A good number of soldiers are stationed at Japanese islands. China is in frequent skirmish with India. They want to bring India forcefully to their fold, to fight against US and their allies which India will never agree. China is now supplying huge quantity of arms to Pakistan to use against India. Pakistan is continuously engaged in creating problems at the Indian borders. The situation as a whole is quite alarming. This is all due to the unbound greed of China to sit on the head of the world defeating US. The whole world should stand united against the Chinese move. The ferocious leadership of China should be isolated. They are neither a reliable neighbour nor a trust

GUARANTEE INSURANCE FOR BANK LOANS

Image
It must be a new concept. While the government announce various schemes and plans for the new entrepreneurs to start industries, qualified and skilled youth and other experienced people, in most cases are not able to avail those. When they approach the banks with excellent project reports, banks ask for suitable collateral security towards the financial assistance. In most cases these new comers are not able to provide the required collateral security as such are compelled to leave the project. We must find a solution for this if we want to bring more and more youth to the industrial sector. It should be like this: An entrepreneur approach the bank for financial assistance for his project. If the project is acceptable to the bank they can refer this to the Insurance Company who in turn will examine the project and if found fit they can give guarantee to the bank for hundred percent of loan. For the security of the loan, the Insurance Company will act as a joint signatory fo

IS TRANSFER A PUNISHMENT?

Image
When  a state government employee is found to have committed some serious offense, the usual action taken against them is a transfer. If it is so every transfer of a government employee shall be taken as a punishment. The employee concerned, therefore, shall have the right to find the reason for transfer. There must be strict code of conduct prescribed for government employees. Any breach shall automatically become punishable as prescribed. Religious attachment or union membership or political affiliation should not become a cause for hindrance to punishment. Discipline is absolutely essential for every government servant irrespective of his status. The state of Kerala may have the most politically motivated government service in India. Either for employment or for promotion or for escape from certain punishment politics is applied as the common and effective weapon and shield. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

INDIAN WARNING TO THE CHINESE DICTATOR

Image
China is now ruled by a dictator. He gives preference to expand his kingdom than offering peace, sanctity and prosperity to his people. He does not allow the common man to open his mouth. In contrast we Indians are taught to love others, share our happiness with the neighbors and live in harmony with the whole world. About 10,000 Chinese people are in India now. They must be more contented and liberal here than in their own country. They have freedom of expression here which is absolutely not available in China except for a few top men. If China want to sit on top of the world they can try for it, but in a peaceful manner; not with muscle power. We are not here to stop them but must confine it to themselves. We should not be forced for anything. If the Chinese president thinks that by doing some skirmish at our border can threaten us and pulled to their fold, it is a wrong perception. China cannot threaten India with their weapons and the so called war supremacy. Five Chine

CAN WE NOT PREVENT GOLD SMUGGLING?

Image
By  amending the baggage law suitably and thereby ensuring cent per cent scanning of baggage, gold smuggling can be prevented effectively. The punishment can also be enhanced. Any so called diplomatic baggage, whatsoever it may be, to be brought under scanning with suitable equipments with perfect accuracy to detect gold inside, if any. In the case of any detection, the baggage can be detained at the customs office and may be opened later in the presence of the addressee. Consent for this can be obtained from all nations having diplomatic relations with us. This arrangement can prevent smuggling of gold through the diplomatic baggage. In the case of other baggages, those should be passed through automatic scanner with alarm bell arrangements. Every person, irrespective of their status,  should also be made to pass through suitable scanners. However VVIPs coming from other countries can be exempted from scanning. This is only a technical arrangement and if strictly followed,

CHINA SHOULD BE ISOLATED

Image
How  long we can afford the skirmish at the border with China is a matter of serious concern. If we keep conceding our land to avoid a tussle, in the name of peace, they will not stop the encroachment until they reach Kanyakumari. So, let us stop the negotiations here itself. Initially we may go for formal detailed discussion for the settlement of the border dispute. If we can arrive at a peaceful conclusion it would be well and good. If not, without firing a shot, we must ensure that they will not dare to lift the gun against us. It all should be in a peaceful manner. We must expose China in front of the world. Human rights violation is at its peak in China. There is no freedom of citizens, no freedom of worship, no freedom of religion, no freedom of expression, no freedom of speech and umpteen other no to freedom. A good number of regions within China consisting of a population of around 450 million people (This is the population of about 75 world countries) are demanding

COVID SIDELINED, POLITICS IN THE FOREFRONT

Image
From  all that is happening around and the steep increase in the Covid infection baffle the people of Kerala. While coronavirus is normally infected by chance through contacts, in Kerala it is suspected to have bought willingly by people. For reasons best known to them, many people from the state of Kerala are reluctant to use protective coverings and to maintain the prescribed safe distance. If it goes like this it is not too far that the death rate per day due to Covid19 reach over 500 a day. God alone can save the people of this state. Many people are still interested to stay with their political parties than save themselves. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

COVID19 KERALA - ALARMING SITUATION - CAN WE OVERCOME?

Image
Covid19 is alarmingly climbing up in Kerala. Though the state was counted safe at the initial period, things have been changed since then and the present state of the pandemic demands effective measures both by the government as well as by the people. While the people should strictly adhere to the directives of the administration, the government on the other hand may take stern measures to prevent further spread. Further spread can only be contained by identification and isolation. Every patient should be identified and such ones should be immediately isolated and provide available treatment. In order to identify all the patients, tests shoud be widened, in other words, entire people of the state should be tested. There can be a good number of Covid19 patients unknowingly moving around and mingling with plenty of people. Unless we identify and isolate them the ongoing spread cannot be stopped. This can be possible only by a cent per cent test. It will be a massive, time bou

GOLDEN CRIMINALS

Image
Loopholes  in law is widely used by criminals in India. Since the money involved in many of the crime is huge they succeed in getting protection from the power centers and finally get scot-free. In the case of smuggling of gold,  about 25% of the total import is coming through illegal channels. According to reliable sources about 800 tonnes of gold were brought to the country last year of which 200 tonnes are believed to have come through wrong path. The central government is loosing about ₹11,000/- crores in an year by way of customs duty. Further to this the state is loosing over ₹2,500/- crores by way of GST. Only a few number of culprits were picked by the authorities concerned. There is something seriously wrong in our system. The central and state governments may take adequate measures to block the loopholes of law. Political parties accusing one another is not the solution. There must be a uniform and purpose oriented action to prevent this serious crime. While this

BALANCE OF POWER BETWEEN INDIA AND CHINA

Image
Different factors are evaluated to determine the strength of a country and most important of all is the GDP. The defence potential is another significant aspect considered. Natural resources, manpower, international relations etc also make one country powerful. Top countries by GDP are: 1) USA 2) China 3) Japan 4) Germany 5) India 1. US Nominal GDP: $ 21.44 trillion - GDP (PPP): $ 21.44 trillion 2. China Nominal GDP: $ 14.14 trillion- GDP (PPP): $ 27.31 3. Japan Nominal GDP: $ 5.15 trillion- GDP (PPP) $ 6.75 trillion 4. Germany Nominal GDP: $ 3.86 trillion - GDP (PPP): $ 4.44 trillion 5. India Nominal GDP:$ 2.94 trillion - GDP (PPP): $ 10.51 trillion ( Variations between the graphics and this chart can be found as these pertain to different periods) While China is superior to India in GDP and in war resources, in a full fledged war India has upper hand in many area and, therefore, the result will be contrary to China's expectations. But that is not the matter to be cons

CORONAVIRUS Vs POLITICS IN INDIA

Image
Most of the states in India seem to be giving added preference to politics. In the Covid race India has just reached the bronze stage after beating Russia and running for the silver to overtake Brazil. Despite such amount of pandemic spread and huge fatalities, innumerable number of our political parties jointly and individually trying to pull down the ruling parties; and the ruling parties are trying to retain the throne for ever and ever. They are least bothered about coronavirus or the deaths thereby but using the virus a sword by some and a shield by other. As per latest publication from election commission of India the total number of parties registered were 2599 with 8 national parties (INC, BJP, BSP, CPI, CPIM, NCP, AITC and NPP) 53 state parties and 2538 unrecognised parties. I think our age old scriptures are of no use untill those reach the head of the common politician. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

NEW CHINESE VIRUS

Image
While the whole world is under terror created by the coronavirus pandemic, the discovery of a new virus in China has triggered more concerns among the health experts. The new viral strand is another flu virus that can become a pandemic. This virus is carried by pigs and can infect humans. It can mutate and spread through human to human transmission, much like coronavirus pandemic. "Serological surveillance among occupational exposure population showed that 10.4% (35/338) of swine workers were positive for G4 EA H1N1 virus, especially for participants 18 to 35 years old who had 20.5% (9/44) seropositive rates, indicating that the predominant G4 EA H1N1 virus has acquired increased human infectivity," the research said. (Quoted from different medical write ups) We must be watchful to prevent the entry of the virus to our country especially from China. It would be easier to prevent now than to cure later. COVID 19 CASES MOUNTING IN KERALA

Image
For the past two weeks Covid 19 cases in Kerala have been climbing up. Growth rate of Covid 19 cases in Kerala is as follows. 1 Jan 30, 17 Mar 10, 314 Apr 5, 499 May 4, 794 May 23, 2161 Jun 10, 2912 Jun 19, 4311 Jun 29, 4593 Jul 1 and 5204 Jul 4. Active cases on 4 July is 2129. Death reported as on 4 July is 26. The state had taken effective measures to prevent the pandemic in the early stage but could not check the numbers due to carriers from other states and abroad. However the fact that alarms is the untraced spread which was 17 on July 4. According to medical experts it cannot be said as a dangerous situation now. If this figure is mounted it can become something like a wild fire.  May be due to dearth of resources we could not arrange quarantine for cent per cent of incoming people outside the home. Had it been done spread to the local could have avoided. Identification and Isolation is the only way to check this pandemic. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

LET DALAI LAMA OPEN HIS MOUTH TO THE WORLD

Image
Story of Tibet is the story of cheating by China. Tibet became an independent country from China in 1913. China could not recognise the independence status of Tibet and during the regime of Mao Zedong attacked them in 1950 and killed a huge number of Tibetans, over 6000 monasteries were destroyed and  several thousands people were imprisoned. Later, consequent upon the religious suppression by the Chinese government, in 1959 the 14th Dalai Lama was forced to flee from Tibet to India. He is now in Dharamsala alongwith about 10,000 Buddhist monks from Tibet. The 10th Panchen Lama, Tenzin Tinlay Jigme Choekyil Wangchuk died in 1989 at the age of 50. Though the cause of death was declared as cardiac arrest, top Chinese politician was suspected to have behind this.  Now the great Buddhist leader is in India. For many reasons he was not allowed to express his feelings in public. It is the ideal time now to allow Dalai Lama to travel across the world and speak to all about what wa

DIPLOMATIC WAR

Image
India , on top most priority, may take the first step to bring the SAARC nations including Pakistan and Nepal under one fold. It may be tough to get Pakistan with us, but that depends upon how the diplomatic game we play. Nepal must be easy to tackle. China will now offer sweet snacks to attract Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to them. We must remain cautious. We can also think about a common platform for international trade with provisions for economic benefits for all. If such an association is developed with the SAARC nations, it can be extended to Myanmar, Taiwan, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Philippines,Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei and Thailand. What best we can do to liberate Hong Kong should be done without any direct involvement by us. We can, with no hesitation, now suspend all trade relations with China. They can be excluded from all economic and regional cooperation forthwith. We need not even consider that a country named China is our

SHOULD FIND AN END TO CHINESE NUISANCE

Image
We  must be more watchful at our western border. Pakistan has become an agent for China for quite sometime. China has entrusted them with one contract work, doing as much harm to India. Chinese leadership must have given them plenty of promises. Poor Pakistani people taken all those for granted. China has shown it's authority over some of our neighbours. Now they want to show it to us also. Unfortunately the poor Chinese leadership continuously fails to assess the consequences of it. They have all the freedom to play their games within their recognised territory. For reasons best known to them they are not willing to confine within their internationally recognised land. They want to snatch the land of all their neighbours. They have border disputes with 13 countries sharing borders with them. Does it mean that all 13 countries are wrong and China alone is right? If China thinks that they can expand their country forcefully over other's, they should know that they wi

OVERCOME ECONOMIC COLLAPSE

Image
Covid19 has shattered the economy all over the world. India too has its terrific impact. But we Indians can overcome it. We have all the resources. We have high quality man power. What we are looking for then? Do not waste a minute. Start doing now itself. Select a product that is used world over. Try to make it at half of the existing price. Maintain the required quality. Find the buyer. Sell it. All that we make can be sold within the country and abroad. If we can have entrepreneurship there will be no dearth of fund. Concentrate on all that we use in our day to day life including value added food items. Don't look for per unit profit but look for turnover profit. Discuss with your friends over phone now itself. Think of starting the unit as early as possible. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com
