MUSLIMS IN CHINA UNDERGO HUGE SUFFERINGS

Image
Mosque Xian of China                  built in 1392 There  is an estimated 28 million Muslims in China. Hui Muslims are found to be the largest group. The biggest concentration of Muslims are found in Xinjiang, which contains Uyghur population. According to available data China has the 11th largest Muslim population in the world. According to a report by the Wikipedia some Muslim communities in China face legal restrictions on their ability to practice. Since 2017 Chinese government is accused of detaining more than million Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities in internment camps in Xinjiang and conducting forceful assimilation to suppress their cultural and religious identity. According to Sarah Cook, Senior Research Analyst of Freedom House for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, "After 2009, everything changed. Now the rule is, if I go to your house, read some Quran, pray together, and the government finds out, you go to jail." As per another information given

CAN INDIA BECOME THE RICHEST COUNTRY

Image
The Parliament of India When there is a will there are numerous ways. What is that we lack to become richest in the world? We have enough natural resources and  we have more than enough man power to exploit those. Here, neither our government give them opportunity to work nor the people are willing to work. People want to earn without putting any efforts. That is what we have taught them through our age old culture! This free money habit is widely spread in our entire society from top to bottom. Even highly qualified or well plàced people have no hesitation in freely picking from others pockets. There are many media reports about ministers, parliament members, judges, civil service personnel placed at different positions involved in illegitimate monetory earnings. Only a negligible few were brought under the law. Our educational standard has brought us to this level that people may do any paltry things for a few chips. Power and wealth has become the top most target

CAN WE INDIANS ACHIEVE GROWTH IN ANY LEVEL

Image
Our  political leaders when have a large gathering to listen, say, economic development of India is something easily achievable one. We may overtake China in another few years! We will be among the advanced countries of the world! Awnd very soon by political parties we may listen that we are going to be the richest in the world! Speakers continue with their tall speeches and the listeners continue to clap their hand. Our one-way traffic media reports make these great speeches reach as much people as possible. But what is hidden from probably most of the people are: 1) considerable amount of about 1.5 billion population still live below poverty line or close to the line above, 2) a large amount of our population are between illiterates and below matriculation, 3) ours is one of the most unsafe country for women in the world, 4) countless number of people are begging in streets across the country, 5) unknown number of children are unable to attend the school and the list goes

WHERE WERE WE UNTIL NOW

Image
Image of our galaxy   Image courtesy: National       Geographic Channel  We can recollect our past by about few years or a few decades depending upon our age. But in reality how long we have been in this world? In order to answer this we may have to overwhelm all existing theological concepts and concentrate only on science. The modern science says that the universe was begun from a Big Bang. All things in the universe were came into being by the explosion of a tiny particle.  And that took place 13.8 billion years ago. So our life too commenced in this universe 13.8 billion years ago. We must have remained as air particles, water or other liquid particles or in general we remained as atoms and molecules. Hundreds and thousands of years thus passed away without seeing, hearing or thinking anything. Then we became tiny plants, small and large plants and after that we became small and big trees of different kinds. Years after years we shaped up to tiny creatures. Durin

CAN THE PEOPLE OF INDIA UPLIFT THE COUNTRY?

Image
Before answering this question we must know what is the power of the people in this largest democracy of the world. Democracy in India is established on four pillars like legislature, executive, judiciary and media. These four pillars are beleived to be resting on the 'largest area of land' called the great Indian population. If we study the nature of land for over 75 years we may find that it has become a marshy land. Now we must put all out efforts to remove the water from this land and make it a levelled, strong and dry land where all the four pillars can be strongly erected. Whenever weakness was noticed in the pillars there were three external forces that were terribly influenced to spoil the land. First of these three damaging factors is excessive and aimless politics. As per the publication of Election Commission of India dated 23.09.2021, there were 2858 parties registered with the Commission including 6 national parties, 57 regional parties and 2796 unrecog

WHAT IS VOTE

Image
According to the dictionary the meaning of vote is: A   formal indication of choice between two or more candidates expressed typically through ballots or show of hands. This meaning in the dictionary has been redefined by our politicians as well as by we ourselves, the voters. Now it has been treated like a commodity by many. Now vote is like a: Commodity for sale! A surprise gift! In the form of pick pocket! A forceful snatch! A gang burglary! And it goes on and on.  Tomorrow what will happen to it, no one knows. It has already become a burden to many. The great work of the renowned noble humen like Cliesthenes of Athens of the 6th century BC, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Charles Gaulle of France, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar and such great ones who have built democracy in the world is gradually getting collapsed. CAN DEMOCRACY BE A RELIGIOUS TRADING COMMODITY?

Image
For quite sometime we Indians find that leaders of different religions bargaining with political parties for the wholesale of votes of the followers of the respective religions to them as a consideration for certain give and take or reimbursement. Leaving some mild opposition here and there no any serious interference can be found against this from the people. The fundamental function of the religious leader is the charector formation of the members of the respective religions, teaching the faith, explaining the text of the Holy Books, leading the worship etc. In a democratic country, do they have the right to offer the votes en masse to any political party for any consideration is something to be seriously discussed. But it has become a practice in our country despite the fact that casting of votes under free will is the fundamental right in a democratic nation by every citizen. This right is being tried to trade by some third party sellers and buyers. I don't know who

WE MUST CHANGE THE WAY OF PROTEST

Image
For  quite sometime our mode of protest remains the same. We the people as a whole of some regions confront with some serious problems and then look at each other's faces and remain there murmering something. Some fellow suddenly arrive at the scene. He places himself at some tall spot and start delivering a speech by accusing some departments and officials. By the time some of his chelas reach  with some flags. The neta  then form a procession and leads the affected people to some offices and shout big slogans. At the office the  neta gives some threatening speech. It continues for a day or two. The people are normally led to stop vehicular traffic, forcefully down the shutters of all shops of the area. And it continues for two or three days. Police arrives the place and arrest some people. Finally some officials sit and talk with the people. And they say they will look into it. Let us find an end to this comedy game. When you have an individual or social problems, try

ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES

Image
We Indians are much ahead in the world today in somethings like widespread use of Electronic Voting Machine in all levels of our democratic elections. We are far behind among other countries in happiness index, literacy, adequacy of food, cleanliness and such many other things. Though many people and media have expressed nonreliability in EVMs the government has conclusively established this. More advanced countries like USA, UK, Japan, Germany, France etc are yet to introduce this. There may be adequate reasons for the same. What are those? It is not that we should not use EVMs in the country. About a billion people are the users. Many of them are illiterates. The pros and cons should be told them before asking them to use it. CAN WE BRING DOWN THE CRIME RATE

Image
We  can very well bring down the crime rate in our state as well as in the whole country. The first thing we need towards this direction is that we all should have a common wish to live here peacefully. Rest of the things are manageable. Of late people have an increased tendency to commit crimes. Most of those commit crimes know how to escape from punishment. Bribing the concerned officials or using the political connections are the common method used to get away from punishment. Allowing a criminal to escape is as good as committing a similar crime. Recently the parents of a young girl publicly said in a TV programme that their daughter was raped and killed leaving adequate evidence to prove the crime. Unfortunately, they said that the concerned government officials had taken all precautions to hide the fact and evidences. Such things are not abnormal in our country. The normal crimes fall under following categories. Monetory, sex related, political and road accidents by c

INDIA NEED A DRASTIC CHANGE

Image
India is a country deeply drowned in corruption. Whether it is monetary corruption, political corruption or moral corruption we are known corrupt in the world. In Global Corruption Index 2023 India ranks 93 out of 180 countries in the world. Until we get ourselves refined from corruption we cannot have any economic development. We may never reach the level of advanced countries.  We have more than enough natural resources to deploy all our unemployed people, but for unknown reasons we are not making any attempts to exploit such resources and deploy our people especially our educated youth. The young generation coming up in our country can compete with people of any countries. They are one of the most intelligent in the world. If proper opportunities are provided they will be able to change the face of the country. Every individual Indian may have a good house with enough modern appliances, a car, good food, good medical aid, standard education and our country will have enou

ANTI HUMAN CAST SYSTEM IN INDIA

Image
Jagannath temple in Puri. As  per the Census report of 2011, 966.3 million people are identified as Hindus in India. This represents 79.8% of the population of the country. The main casts are further divided into about 3,000 casts and 25,000 subcasts. Traditionally Brahmins are accorded the highest ritual status of the four social classes. Brahmins are generally vested with priesthood, performing rites of passage rituals, solemnising wedding etc. According to the reports of 2007 Brahmins hold 5% of the Indian population. Brahmins themselves are of 7 categories. As per the Mandal Commission report of 1980 the population of Shudras in India was 52% of the total population. This is excluding the population of the high cast Shudras. 25% of our population belongs to Dalits (SCs  and STs). These reserved casts and tribes are not fully eligible to enter into manyt of the Hindu temples in India. Liberty and equality as provided in the Constitution are beyond the reach of these

DEMOCRATIC INDIA - IS SO DEMOCRATIC ?

Image
India is said to be the largest democracy in the world. The word 'largest' stands in terms of population. There are 167 countries that follow the path of democracy. India ranks 108th on Electoral Democracy Index 2023. In fact democracy in India is strictly confined to voting in elections at various levels. Earlier it was manual casting of votes and now it is by using electronic voting machines. The following countries only use EVM for national elections. Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, DR of Congo, Estonia, India, Philippines, UAE and Venezuela. USA use manual casting of votes they use some electronic scan tabulator system for counting of votes. However, despite all so called convenience, as per available information, countries like UK, France, Germany, Australia, Japan, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, New Zealand etc are not using EVMs for national elections. These countries may have their own reasons for rejecting Electronic Voting. EVM was first used in India in the By-elect

A DOPPELGANGER (LOOK ALIKE -TWIN LIKE) OF YOU MAY BE AROUND!

Image
Each  one of us believe that he or she is a unique person in the world. Over 7 billion people living in this world we may not find one like ourselves. This uniqueness may not be true as we think. The chances of our "twin" walking around us can be higher than our expectations. We may jump into our lookalike anytime anywhere. Durga Devi and Thavamalar could be mistaken for being the same one. Surprisingly they are completely unrelated. They are doppelgangers. It is more interesting to find that they work in the same department at Sunway Medical Centre. Doppelgangers are not biologically related, genetically related and have no connection with each other's family history but for some unknown reason have similar features. The strange possibility always remain that your doppelganger living somewhere even with your mother's catseye or father's black mole you have. Apparently there is one in 135 chance that there is a single pair of complete doppelgangers. (D

HOW IS THE REAL KERALA PEOPLE?

Image
This  is not being written with the help of any approved statistics but from quite extensive experience. I have widely travelled in India and mingled with people from different regions. The people of Kerala are gifted with a super status in literacy. I don't think it is a great achievement. If all the Indian states have the literacy standard of LKG, Kerala is at UKG. That much is the difference. Kerala is nowhere near the advanced countries of the world There is no society in the world who prevent their own economic development, but Keralites are the one. During the past decades hundreds of industrialists came here with many proposals to start industries here but the people turned them away. A large group of South Korean industrialists came here with large novel proposal of household industries. They made this proposal considering two things; a) educated and skilled man power, b) scarcity of land. Though there was large scope for this the state has rejected it outright.

WHAT COULD WE DO FOR OUR FELLOW BEINGS

Image
We  are about 795 crores people living in this world today. All that we are enjoying today are the outcome of the hardwork of countless number of people. Even every grain of rice coming to our plates are the result of many thousands of people. When we get sick we take medicine and get healed. There may be efforts of generations behind every tablet or every drop of medicine that comfort us. Each one of us are highly indebted to many people lived here or living here. Are we thankful to those humans? Do we ever think about them? Now, coming back to us. We are in this world, may be, for a few decades. If we look at our story, have we got anything in our mind that is worth to mention that we have done for our fellow beings. When we pass away from here, how many around us and how long will remember us. Have we ever fed a hungry stranger with enough food? Have we ever sent sufficient food to a poor family of your area? Have we ever asked a tired poor one whether he is hungry? Have

COMMUNIST KILLINGS IN THE WORLD

Image
The bloodiest period of history of the world belongs to the Communists. The highest number of killings made by a single ruler in the history of the world stands in the name of Mao Zedong in China. During the period of 1958-62 Mao killed 45 million people. Estimated total killing in different countries are given below. China - 76,702,000 (1949-87) Soviet Union - 61,911,000 (1917-87) Kampuchea - 2,035,000 (1975-79) Vietnam - 1,670,000 (1945-87) Poland - 1,585,000 (1945-87) N.Korea - 1,563,000 (1948-87) Yugoslavia - 1,072,000 (1945-87) (Such killings may be found in all Communist ruled countries of the world) The Left Front government ruled for seven consecutive terms in West Bengal from 1977 to 2011 by Communist Chief Ministers  Jyoti Basu (five terms) and Buddhadev Bhattacharya (two terms) According to a report by the Mainstream Weekly dated August 14, 2010 after analysis Communist killings in the state during the period of 1977-96 the monthly average was 125.7 murders. YOUR POSSESSION

Image
The most precious for you in the world now is the air in your lungs. If it leaves, you are no more. And that belonged to someone else little earlier and again it will move into someone else soon. Every possession of ours is like this.                ++++++ The physical body we have is our identity. In the absence of this we remain as a memory. This body may be very strong or very beautiful. Others may like to remain close to it. Before forming in this body it came from the soil of the earth some particles of it might have come from home waste, animal or human bodies, dirty water, beautiful flowers and so on. After sometime it will become something like those.                   ++++++     When we meet people it can be our first meeting in our lives. We can offer them a memorable smile. And when we meet someone it can be our last meeting. Let us give them enough love.                 ++++++++ K V George

RELIGION PROMOTES CRIME

Image
Triveni Sangam, Allahabad, the confluence of three holy rivers; the Ganga, Yamuna and the legendary Saraswati. During the Kumb Mela Triveni witness the largest human gathering in the world. God Vishnu after Mahabharat in Dwaparayug said that in Kalyuga the people will be so violent that the world will merely be dark. So what is happening all around the world can be attributed to the impact of Kalyuga. In Hinduism there are 4 cycle of birth and death of universe. Satyug - Angels and humans with 100% peace. Pretyug - 75% peace and 25% violence. Ramayana occurred during this period. Dwaparayug - 50% peace and 50% violence.. Mahabharat happened during this period. Kalyug - 25% peace and 75% violence. Current time. Whichever may be the religion it does not consists of Angels and gods but filled with humans. They are prone to commit crimes all along. No impact of Sree Ram or Sree Krishna can be there. Crime rate in India 2020 - 487.8 per lakh 2021 - 445.9 per lakh 2022 - 422.2 pe

HOMELESS DEVELOPMENT OF OUR COUNTRY

Image
(People sleeping on roadside during extreme winter nights in New Delhi. Image courtesy, Times of India) Time and again we Indians hear loud proclamations by our rulers about our achievements. Of course, the people are proud of it too. It is high time that we should see whether these achievements are reaching uniformly to all Indians. For instance if we take our pci/ppp it may look to be presentable to the world, though remains at low ranking. But things get worse if we remove the earnings of just thousand richest ones from the whole 1.5 billion population. Our street beggers, patients heaped in the hospital verandas, those sleeping in the way side during extreme winter etc tell us a much different story. While the haves are moving at a pace of 1,2,4,8,16,32 rates the have nots are stagnated at 1,1.5,1,1.5,1,1.5 rates. Should we not look at the lower strata of the society too? However, fortunately for some and unfortunately for many we Indians are well prepared to suffer any

DEAR PARENTS OF SCHOOL AND COLLEGE GOING CHILDREN ...

Image
"We must have life-building, man-making, charector- making assimilation of ideas. If you have accumulated five ideas and made them your life and charector, you have more education than any man who has got by heart a whole library ... " Swami Vivekananda. My dear parents, the fellow Indians, whose children are going to schools and colleges in India, must spare a few minutes to go through this brief write up. Political parties have deeply penetrated into our educational system for quite sometime. They have used different avenues like religion, money, power politics etc for this. Politics have changed the system of education in schools and colleges quite rapidly. Education through prescribed syllabus have given way to political ideologies. Impatience, indiscipline, indecency, fight between students, stabbing of  teachers, killing of other students etc are now practiced in good number of colleges in different parts of our country. The parents must think the purpose of

ANSWERING THE PRAYER INSTANTLY AND MIRACULOUSLY - A TRUE' STORY

Image
Many  years ago, James Rogers of Alabama Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church told the story of Annie Clayton of San Jose, California. As a child, she and her sister Banie took a long walk one Saturday morning to collect some scraps of wood as fuel for heating their families home. As they returned, Vanie collapsed from the lingering effects of cholera and was unable to proceed. Annie, who was only five years old, was helpless and they sat beside the road not knowing what to do. Finally Vanie said, "You know, Annie, that a good while ago mother told us that if we ever got into trouble, we should pray, and God would help us. Now you help me get down upon my knees, and hold me up, and we will pray." So there on the side walk, the two sisters prayed earnestly for someone to come along to help them. Then they resumed sitting on the curb waiting to see how God would answer their prayers. Far down the street, they spotted a man who walked out of a factory and loo

KERALA TODAY

Image
No  government in Kerala ever undergone such paucity of fund as of now. It must be the result of financial mismanagement. If we look at the available information from AG, the state finance wing as well as the Central Finance Minister it could be gathered that the State Government has not made adequate effort to collect the dues from the concerned. Simultaneously the state has made no effort to get the alloted fund from the Central Government and to enhance the revenue from new sources. Above all corruption is reported to be rampant in the state of Kerala. Over and above the continuous reports by media about large amount of corruption by people occupying significant position in the state, individuals are coming out with proof of corruption by these persons. All said and done no any corrective measures or punitive action is reported to have been taken so far. Finally Sri Shiva Shankar an IAS officer and the former Private Secretary of the CM have been taken into custody for i

CAMPUS POLITICS MAY BE BANNED IN INDIA

Image
When there are many countries in the world where political parties are banned we Indians are so liberal in nurturing over 2,700 political parties in our country. The growth of these parties are arranged through our campus. As a result strike, hartal, bundh, road blocks, shop closes, school and college bundh and all sorts of protests are common here. There may not be a single day when no such protests are taking place in any part of the country. Let's recall here the 1989 Tiananmen Square protest where over 20,000 people were killed including onlookers. Politics in Indian colleges and schools, it can be safely assumed, provide training to cause destruction to public properties, wound and kill fellow students and teachers. According to a report by The New Indian Express, during the period from 2016- 2021 period 32 political killings reported in Kerala of which 12 from Kannur alone.  What is the real gain from campus politics? May be the only answer will be, to create poli

INDIAN ECONOMICS OF CORRUPTION

Image
We  Indians must be on the top layers of corruption in the world. When we call our country Mother India, we have no hesitation in stealing money and other forms of wealth from our mother without her knowledge. Our modus operandi is something like this:  Let's imagine that we have a large village with large population and large resources. Lot of developments are proposed in the annual budget. People are asked to pay huge amount of taxes to meet the proposed expenses. By the year end the President of the Village Association has purchased a bar. During the first week after opening the bar all the members of the village council were invited to the bar and provided them free drinks and free food every day. After a week it became twice in a week and in the third week the free service became once in a week. Then it became once in a month and after that it was  once in an year. And afterwards therewas no free business.  Time went on. All council members started whispering betwe
