CAN WE CALL IT FREEDOM?

Image
Note: This was published in October 2020. Since its a contemporary subject just publishing it again. The   photograph appeared in today's news paper (Nov 2023) prompted me to write this, and being posted again. Film actress Kangana Ranaut walking through the public place surrounded by Y plus security personnel. Y category is a type of security consisting of 11 persons including one or two commandos or police personnel. Why this security is needed for Kangana, an ordinary woman, to walk through a public place in India? Because she has expressed her opinion in public about the government. She too must have voted for electing the government. Article 19  of the Indian constitution is guarenteeing individual rights and absolute freedom of expression under any circumstances for every citizen of India. Decades after approving the constitution and making it bound to be obeyed by every citizen of India, a state government is unanimously disallowing this constitutional ...

KERALA.- LAND OF ORATORS

Image
Nowhere in the world we may find such amount of orators. Whether it is politics, religion, revolution, advanced methods for poverty removel, liberal economy or any such subject there is no dearth of orators. Listeners are there or not, does not matter but  mike is a must. Since our census papers do not have a column to count the scholars in the state this data is not available. We are also on top in number of meetings! Evening hours one can find meetings at every nook and corner of cities, towns and villages of the state. When economic policies of UN is evaluated at one place,  liberation of Taiwan is the subject in another, The James Web Telescope on the Space is under discussion in another corner. In many cases orators are more than the listeners. There are a good number of instances where the stages were collapsed by the huge weight of them and injuring many. As far as the knowledge and opinions of the orators are concerned, these are not firm and steady but dep...

CAMEL AND ELEPHANT TOGETHER PASS THROUGH THE EYE OF A NEEDLE!

Image
(This is based on an incident reported some times ago. Now the election it at the door steps and such incidents may be reported about probably more in numbers) As  per the report of a leading Malayalam daily, the Chief Minister of Telangana alleged that a young politician of Kerala is behind the 'Operation Kamala'. The serious allegation involving changing 'stable' of 4 MLAs of the state was a deal of Rs 100 crores. This is the current politics in India. Now, when it would be appeared in the media, according to the conventional Indian political history, all those accused shall come up with a straight 'no'. And the complainant may end up the story there.  Though we in India have more than enough agencies to find out the truth and bring out the culprits on either side into the books no one goes for it. Then we have a large legal network to find out the husk and grain, but strangely none opt for this too. On the whole, where the huge money is coming fro...

SURPRISING RESULT OF PRE-POLL SURVEY

Image
A Malayalam channel is found to have conducting pre-poll survey in the Lok Sabha constituencies of Kerala towards the ensuing parliament election. As per the report published by them in many of the constituencies the projected vote difference between UDF and LDF is about 1% to 2% less for LDF. It shows that nearly about equal amount of voters are in both sides. On the other hand if the LDF can put little more efforts they can win the election. The allegations of corruption made by the media en masse have not reached the target. One may even try to find the following abnormalities in the people. They can be called ignorant. They either do not believe the allegations or they do not find fault in those. Another thing could be that Communism is strongly established in Kerala. It may also be a truth that the considerable number of people of Kerala love their Chief Minister and his family. Most important aspect could be that the opposition party have failed to reach the people. L...

GOD HAS FINALLY BEEN BROUGHT INTO INDIAN POLITICS

Image
The Trimurti  The way politics is being developed in our country, we are now changing human politics into divine politics. Within the Sanctuary of Gods the Prime God is one, in three forms; Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Shiva the Destroyer. Lord Vishnu is meaning to have ten  incarnations of which nine have been completed and the tenth - Kalki is yet to appear. While the Indian politics have chosen one of the Avatars as the prime motivator for the ensuing general election, other Avatars and gods like Krishna, Shiva, Brahma, Indra, Hanuman etc too are likely to appear in Indian politics as leaders and symbols shortly.  Finally it could be a fight between gods propagated by man. NONSTOP ATTACK BY WILD BEASTS

Image
Kerala seems to have become the ideal ground for the wild beasts. According to a report by The Hindu dated 24 Feb 2022, the minister Sri A K Saseendran has revealed that 1088 people were killed by wildlife attacks during the past one decade. Who is responsible for this huge number of deaths of poor human beings. If the media reports can be relied neither the Government of Kerala has adequate fund to prevent the trespassing of wild animals into human inhabited area nor they are able to get the Central Government interference in this matter. When both the governments are washing their hands in taking the responsibility of such large number of human killings by wild animals like elephants, tigers, leopards etc the people may approach the judiciary for arranging protection. As per the report by The Hindu dated 18 February 2024 there were 55,839 attacks by wild animals in Kerala during the past eight years resulting in the deaths of 910 people. This has become a routine affair i...

MUSLIM LION AND HINDU LIONESS

Image
According to a report in Malayala Manorama a case is filed in the Kolkata High Court by Vishwa Hindu Parishad pleading to separate a pair of Lions kept together in a Zoo.  The reason shown is that the lion holds the name Akbar and the lioness the name Sita. According to the complainant the male lion is a Muslim and the female one is a pure Hindu! It is surprising to see that animals too are brought under the colour of religion. When politics is entered into religion animals too are falling under religion. When human concepts of God, the faith in the Supreme One and the system of worship are elaborated and brought into an ideology it may be called as a religion. And how animals can be brought under this circle is beyond imagination. Mixing too much of politics into religion one gets something like intoxication and that is what happened in the demand of separation of lions. There may be a good number political theologians to support the demand of the people who have gone ...

DO WE NEED A POLITICAL CHANGE IN KERALA?

Image
The  answer is undoubtedly an 'Yes'! For about the past seven decades we Malayalees eat, drink and breath politics. We have been playing with two groups of people; one is LDF and the other is UDF. Despite having adequate infrastructure and qualified young man power these political parties could not provide the required economic growth to the people. Even now we are far below in the per capita income of the people comparing to the middle class countries of the world. Of late the media have brought out unprecedented stories of corruption at various political level. The financial resources have been choked for quite sometime. Our educated youth are flooding from the country for survival.  We must now look for a change. All those socioeconomic system tried and tested in the state level or in the national level could not provide anything commendable for the people. Now it may not be worth waiting for a quantum leap from those. In the recent past a newly established part...

WILD ANIMALS KILL HUGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN KERALA

Image
Tiger hiding in grass According to government reports as on February 1923, 637 people were killed by wild animals in Kerala during the past five years. As per another report of December 2023, 293 people were killed by tigers and 2657 by elephants in India during the preceding five years. Generally tigers attack human when they are injured or become old. When they are incapable of picking natural animals as prey they look for the easy game, human. As per natural reasons all life forms on earth are interlinked with each other. Animals, especially the carnivorous are dependent on other animals for survival. Here in Kerala man encroaching into the natural habitat of wild animals. Many even destroy the natural food and water sources of the poor wild beasts. The concerned departments of the state appears to have admitted the attacks of wild animals on to human as routine thing. Animals like elephants, tigers, leopards etc intrude into thickly popu...

KERALA - A UNIQUE TOURIST DESTINATION IN THE WORLD

Image
There are three elements that make Kerala a prime tourist hub in the world. The most appreciated among those is the unique natural beauty of Kerala. There are many authorised agencies like UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organisation) Time Magazine, New York Times etc have recommended  Kerala as one of the 'Must Visit' tourist destinations of the world. Time Magazine rated Kerala in 2022 among the 50 extraordinary destinations to explore in its list of the World's Greatest Places. This is a unique God's Own Land. While the unique beauty of this region is fairly well spread across the world, there are two more unique features which have not drawn the special attention of the world. The unique aspect of this region of India is the people. The people of Kerala are really unique in the world either in behaviour or by charector. Though biologically they don't have much of a difference between Indians of other regions, they are much diff...

NITIN GADKARI - A SUCCESSFUL MINISTER

Image
I do not know Sri Nitin Gadkari in person. However, by gathering all that have flown and overflown through the media created a picture of him beyond a politician of any sort. When he shared his responsibilities with the people of the country he never preferred them by region, language or the political parties they belong. He gave to the states what he can irrespective of any consideration that which party ruled that state. He is a true model of a minister of a democratic nation. According to Business Standard during FY21 the Road Transport and Highways ministry has constructed 13,327 km of highways. A total of 7,42,398 km road constructed @91 km per day as on July 2023 by incurring an expenditure of Rs 3,06,358 Crores as compared to 3,81,393 km @80 km per day as on March 2014 with an expenditure of Rs 1,11,325 Crores. People will always remember such ministers who perform for the country impartially. That is what we have seen on the concluding day in the parliament when Sri...

SCHOOL SYLLABUS KERALA MODEL

Image
Today's news report says that over 1.2 lakhs children rejected Kerala syllabus and left the schools. It has become customary for the concerned departments to prepare the syllabus in a channelised manner. We have a good number of issues in our society looking for ways and means for a result oriented solution. Today's school children will be tomorrow's legislators, judiciary, police, teachers, writers and so on. Wherever we elders have failed to find solutions we may pass it on to the coming generation specifying our failures in details. We have such amount of problems like corruption all over the country, widespread use of narcotics by our youth,  uncontrollable politics of our country, irritation among various religions and most unsafe conditions of women in our country. Another serious matter is the huge number of road accident deaths on our roads. In 2022 alone there were 4,61,312 road accidents in India killing 1,68,491 and injuring 4,43,366 people. We must b...
