THE YOUTH TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD.

The coming time shall certainly belong to the youth the world over. They will be at the driving seat in every affairs of the world. The youth in India, the largest force,  shall be at the forefront. They are a bubbling lot with enthusiasm, energy, ideas and skills. They are capable of bringing peace to the humanity. The tiny state Kerala in the southern part of India has the most energetic and powerful youth. They can do wonders in this world. I would like to invite them to the centre stage. They may come up and take the leadership of the state from the rusted political parties, as a beginning. They do not have to do much home work for this as most of the people are looking for a fundamental change. Let a hand picked lot come ahead, both male and female in equal numbers, and offer the people a corruption free administration, nothing else for the time being, the people shall back them. Once they are at the regime they can do things one by one as the state is full of resources. Come o

RAM TEMPLE IN RAM RAJYA

Some street sellers, before commencement of the business, do some petty tricks to attract people. Some of our political parties too do similar gimmicks before every new election. After the election dates are announced, they proclaim their earnest intention with detailed plan outlay for the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya. In every election meeting they keep on demonstrating this. Once the election is over no one speaks about this until the next election. These parties are doing this for the past few decades. God is the largest selling commodity in India. 'Rama' brand God has very good market potential during election periods. And they do the business! Please stop deceiving the people in general and the Hindu community in particular. If the political parties and their governments have earnest desire to worship and appease the God Rama and retain the memory of Ram Rajya, they may build a "Sree Ram Medical College" at Ayodhya with free teaching and free trea

GOD IN INDIAN ELECTION

Construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya is a proposal surfaced before all elections. Once the election is over no one talks about this matter at all. This can be considered as a mere political gimmick. God is the easily marketable commodity in India and our politicians are well versed in exploiting this market as and when they want. If the people remain to be ignorant in their tricks, our so called voting power do not deserve any sympathy. We Indians have become such simpletons that anyone can play on their forehead. If we fail to react at the appropriate moment we may have to pay heavily very soon. Ram temple has become part of  the  election manifesto for many past elections and being continued this time too. While God is the private affair of every individual politicians make it a democratic institution. Neither the individual politician nor any political party to be accused for this situation. Each one of us is responsible for this. If we cannot correct ourselves we are going to b

MODERN SLAVERY

40.3 mill ion people are under slavery world over according to the findings of Walk Free Foundation from Western Australia. The most heinous aspect of modern slavery is that almost all the victims are not aware of their rights at all. An estimated 18 million people are kept as slaves in India. Many of them are under debt bondage from their land lords. Poor farmers are compelled to borrow from local money lenders to meet the exorbitant cost of farming including fertilizers, pesticides and genetically modified seeds. When these people fail to repay the money with huge interest they are brought into the trap of bondage. They also do not make any complaints as they are afraid of the potential repercussions from the authorities. There are about 70 million slaves around the world in 2016 with 58% of them living in India, Pakistan, China, Bengladesh and Uzbekistan. An estimated 10 million of them are children. These slaves are also forced  to do illegal activities. Alongwith migrant slav

INTERPRETATION OF LAW

Judi ciary is the    ultimate hope and trust for common    man.    When he is  being       exploited        he tries to    approach    the judiciary the earliest possible.      No  common man is an expert    in       law.      He also  is not conversant      with    the          highly intrigued legal          procedures.  He needs to have the help of a   person for this. He has to buy this help in the form of a lawyer.       Since  this     is a priced   service   and    because       of scarcity of money he is    constrained to pick a cheap one. Like any   market commodity   legal      services      also become , therefore, a        commodity with quality variations. While     some lawyers charge fees in         hundreds, some others in thousands and  a few others charge in lakhs, may       be for the same case. These three categories of      lawyers are capable of changing the        final verdict or not could not be proved so far, as there is only one verdict at one ins

POISONOUS FOOD

Most of the vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, eggs, milk, packed food and ingredients for food brought into the state of Kerala  are highly contaminated and adulterated. The media have highlighted it time and again but the so called people's government do not take adequate measures to prevent this corrupt human activities for one reason or the other. A report prepared by the Food Quality Monitoring Laboratory under the Council for Food Research and Development (CFRD) indicates presence of pesticides that has rendered several lots of vegetables unfit for human consumption. Out of 44 lots of vegetables collected from different markets across Kerala, 10 samples contained organo chloro residue above permissible limits, which meant they were unfit for human consumption.(This refers to a report appeared in The Hindu, Kochi dtd 12th Jan 2014) Formalin is generally used for the preservation of fish. Formalin, a toxic and carcinogenic chemical commonly used to preserve dead bodies in mortu

CRIMINALISATION OF DEMOCRACY

It is high time that we Indians should realise the truth that we are not ruled by political parties with any ideology but by many number of criminals who have committed murder, attempt to murder, crime against women and the like. The 16th Lok Sabha recorded the highest number of members with criminal cases against them; a whopping 34%. This figure was quoted by The Hindu from a  report compiled by the Association of Democratic Reforms. Among the states, however, credit go to Maharashtra, UP and Bihar with the highest number of elected members with criminal cases against them. There is another blazing account that 82% of the newly elected MPs and MLAs of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have serious criminal charges against them. Further to these 18% of cabinet ministers have criminal charges against them including crime against women, murder and attempt to murder. If we allow these criminals to rule us what can we expect from them? Can any woman be safe in India? Can the life of any individual

SOS TO WOMEN'S ORGANIZATIONS

A four column news appeared on the 6th page of Malayala Manorama of this day has prompted me to write this. An MLA of the ruling party of UP along with his brother and a gang of thugs entered into a house in Unnao and pulled out an eighteen years old girl and raped her en masse. This is happened about an year back. Since then the father of the victim has been approaching the police to register a case but the police have refused register the complaint for the past one year. The poor man was finally attacked by the goons of the MLA. The police have immediately registered a case against the victim and sent him to the jail. At last the poor man died, rather killed, in the jail yesterday. The girl has made a suicide attempt in front of the house of the Chief Minister. Despite all these the culprits are moving around freely looking for other prey and the police is not bothered for anything. Is this our India? Where is the Vanitha Commission? Where are the innumerable number of women's o

CRIME AGAINST WOMEN

Crime against women is very much on the rise in Kerala. This state has become unsafe for women. Why our men are behaving like this? We must find an answer to this before we look for a remedy. I would like to give various reasons for this sexual aberration rather wild behavior that does not fit to the highly boasted Indian culture. * Lack of stringent punishment for the offenders. * Easy to escape after committing the offence. * Our men are sexually starved. * Lack of adequate sex education in school. * Less opportunity for male and female to mingle with each other. * No knowledge about human sex. * Geographical reasons. * The food habits. * Wild fantasy from mental contrast. * Addiction to alcohol/narcotics * Lack of Civic sense * Ignorance of law. Some incidents are quoted below to help the reader to analyse the cause behind the act. 1) A foreign woman was walking from KSRTC stand to central junction Kottayam, a distance of about 200 meters. During this few minutes in ope

CAN KERALA BE A CRIME FREE STATE?

This question is not to the people of the state but to the political parties who are ruling the state one after the other for over seven decades. In order to manipulate a negative answer to this they cannot come up with dearth of fund, shortage of staff, delay in getting sanction from the central government or any such impediments. What stops them from taking a step towards this? The only reason what the people can find to this is that almost all political parties have their own contributions to commit crimes either directly or indirectly. In other words they are the ones who organise crimes and maintain criminals. Despite having one of the most efficient police forces of the country the successive governments do not take effective steps to reap their efficiency to check crime. According to figures compiled by NCRB till 2010 Kerala has a crime rate of 424.1 whereas the national average is 187.6. In the case of cities Kochi stands on top at 1879.8 against the national average of 341.9.

A MESSAGE FROM THE OTHER WORLD !!!

A true life story is being narrated here. This was happened sometime in the early 1960s. There were a few carpenter families staying near to my house in Kottayam, Kerala. One day morning I went to one of those houses. The house owner aged around 35 came out of the house to the front yard to talk to me. He was followed by his wife and a few kids. The man was talking to me and suddenly fell down and started shaking his body violently. He kept on speaking something but was not legible. He then shouted at the height of his voice, "My youngest son is met with an accident and admitted in a hospital and you are all enjoying here." This was what he talked in the local language probably in a tone of anger. Before telling further I shall give a brief about the family. The father of the man, who fell down and talking in an unconscious state, was also a carpenter and died about an year back at the age of around 70. He had five children. The first, second and the only sister's hus

SYRO MALABAR CHURCH

One third of the world population is Christians and over 17% of the total population is Catholics. Brazil (12.5 Cr), Mexico (10.0 Cr), Philippines (8.5 Cr), USA (7.0 Cr) and Italy (4.1 Cr) are  the top ranking countries in Catholic population. There are about 2 Cr Catholics in India. This makes about 1.5% of the total population. Syro Malabar Church which is in communion with Pope and the Catholic Church world over has its headquarters in Kerala and as per the Annurio Pontificio of 2016, has over 4 million members. The SM  Church is spread across the world depending upon the strength of Malayalees in each region. It is worth mentioning that the Eparch of Kalyan has 100,000 members with 106 parishes and 146 religious priests and St Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Diocese of Chicago, USA has 85,000 members with 11 parishes and 45 religious priests. Within the state, Ernakulam - Angamaly with 510,000 members in 347 parishes and Changanacherry with 390,000 members in 366 parishes are in t

ROAD ACCIDENTS IN INDIA

Acc ording to available information there were 1,50,785 accident deaths in 4,80,652 road accidents in India during 2016. In other words, there are 413 deaths and 1,317 accidents every day. It is equally important to find that there are 41 countries in the world which have population less than 1.5 lakhs. One can, therefore, gaug e the gravity of the matter. Let us get deeper into the subject. Total automobiles manufactured in India in 2016 was ,24,016,599 nos. This figure rose up to 25,316,044 in 2017. There is an increase of 5.41%. Total registered vehicles as on 31.03.2015  were 21,00,23,289 nos. Total length of motorable roads in India as on 31st Mar 2016 was  56,03,293 km. This makes an average of 1.42 km road length per sq.km of land. Now let us find the number of vehicles per km of road in selected countries. Italy - 81, Germany - 80, UK - 76, Malaysia - 72, Japan -64, France - 39, Russia - 35, USA - 31, Saudi Arabia - 20, Brazil - 18,  Australia - 17, China - 12, Kenya - 10

DEMOCRATIC BANKING SCANDAL

Banking scandal has become almost a daily news. Those who have taken away huge sum from the tax share of the common man, those have been paid handsomely for the safe custody of the money, those who are heavily paid for the audit of the bank accounts, those who are sitting at the helm of affairs of the banks, those who are steering from the apex bank and those who are elected by the people to supervise the whole proceedings most honestly are all to be held responsible in this matter. Now, who are to be punished and what should be the punishment is to be decided by the people together with the judiciary. The media should update the people with timely and factual reports. There is no meaning in giving the matter back to the politicians to conduct an enquiry and report to the people. If the people fail to wake up to the call more disastrous things shall take place repeatedly. There is no meaning in accusing a person or party for this. It is the deficiency and the shortcoming of the prev

FORGIVENESS IN CHRISTIANITY

Forg iveness is the essence of Christian teaching. Jesus Christ, throughout His life, taught all those around to forgive between themselves. Jesus is full of love. He is the incarnation of love. Forgiveness is the outcome of love. There cannot be any forgiveness without love and vice versa. In today's world forgiveness is confined to a few words like sorry, excuse etc and limited to a sum called compensation. Even loss of life is compensated with money, that too by variable sums from person to person. In Christianity forgiveness is relief from the punishment for sins. The agony of man in any forms like disease, pain, hunger, poverty, failures etc are the results of the negative energy contained in oneself. This negative energy is not created overnight but accumulated through generations. These negative powers can be eliminated by one method only, forgiveness by Lord God in the form of Son of Man. When Jesus cured a leper, restored eyesight to a blind one, brought a disabled one to

CHINA, A FRIEND OR A FOE ?

I am neither a military analyst nor a warfare expert. I am only a layman looking around and watch keenly all that fall into my vicinity. Being a peace loving Indian, I get irritated when our so called good neighbour China make intrusion into my motherland and make tall claims over our territory. The government of that country also try to precipitate issues which are under negotiation with our neighbours and which can be resolved peacefully. We have land dispute with one of our neighbours since long. Despite our best efforts the issue remains unresolved. Of late China further irritates all of us by making unauthorised construction in the disputed land merely ignoring the patience of the peace loving Indians. China seems to be over enthusiastic about there arms store but fails to apply the common sense that these are to be aimed at a nation which has travelled far beyond 1962. Even though we are in no mind to enter into war with any countries China should not try to take advantage of

IS CHRISTIANITY DECLINING?

Contr ary to the continues growth for centuries Christianity shows a negative tendency for the past some decades. Church attendance is diminishing constantly in some European countries and America. More churches are sold or closed than the new ones constructed. In many countries the youth are keeping themselves away from church activities. In some European countries, which were considered as the citadels of Christianity, Sunday mass is attended mostly by old people and on weak days the attendance has come down to 10 to 15 people. It is informed through reliable sources that seven Catholic Churches have been sold in the recent past in a European country which are now converted as Orthodox Churches. Sale of churches are taking place in USA, UK etc quite frequently. From 1990 to 2000 the combined membership of all Protestant denominations in the US declined by 5 million members (9.5 %) while US population increased by 24 million (11%) Christianity is on the decline in UK, Australia, Ger

IDLE YOUTH OF KERALA

Kerala is on top of all states in India in literacy with 91.98% according to census of 2011. The state also has one of the best communication net work in the country. It also has one of the best transport grid of road, rail, inland water, sea and air. Large number of educated and skilled youth is also an asset for the state. Despite all these favourable elements the successive state governments do nothing to enhance the productivity of the state appreciably and thereby increase per capita income of the people which is comparatively lower to those states which are much below in resources. Kerala state is almost wholly depending on the revenue from the non residents employed abroad. Other major income of the state is from taxes, that too a considerable chunk from the sale of liquor to it's own people, central fund, a meagre sum from tourism and other service sectors. For one reason or the other the state prefers to stand behind in manufacturing industry despite having vast resources

MISUSED POLITICAL AFFILIATION

A political leader from Kerala has expressed his extreme anxiety over the India, USA, Japan and Australia nexus that may create numerous problems for China. Surprisingly, the same anxiety was neither found when China made a claim over an Indian state nor when they made roads at Doko La nor when they constructed the Silk Route through POK nor when  they argued in favour of the hard core Pak terrorist nor when they supply arms and ammunition to Pakistan to fight against India. China may be one of the very few countries in the world where freedom is restricted to it's own people. The people cannot choose a religion and have a place of worship. They cannot look into the world through the media of their choice. Their talk, their writing, their travel etc are all under scanner. If the government force them to do something they cannot resist. If the above leader of Kerala had spoken what he had spoken here in China he would have been behind bars. Our leader's anxiety is not about th

COST AND PRICE

Cost is the total expenditure incurred for the manufacturing of a product or rendering a service. Price is the amount added to the cost towards profit and commission. Until a few decades ago the profit was limited to a sum around 10% of the cost, but it has no limit now.  In contemporary market the price of a commodity can be anything between 100% to 1000% or more of the cost. In the case of medicines,  the prices go above 1200% over the cost. There is no substantial reasons to convince the buyer about the exorbitant price. In today's world no manufacturer can presume that the buyer does not have any idea about the actual cost. The manufacturer at his will in collaboration with other manufacturers of the similar products just fix the price. They know that the buyer has no choice but to buy their products at their price. While we Indians have ship loads of laws for anything and everything no authority finds any fault in the wide gap between the cost and price. Over and above this

RESTRUCTURING PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

There are 16 public holidays and two restricted holidays that can be availed by central government employees for the year 2018. Public sector banks also fall under almost the same list of holidays of central government offices. These 18 days are over and above 52 Sundays and 26 Saturdays for banks and other selected offices. Public holidays are given mostly for the celebration of religious festivals. Generally the festival of one religion is not celebrated by other religions. Now if we restructure the holidays as given below the public will be benefited, the government offices and banks will have more working days and the employees shall not lose their allotted quota of holidays. Annual public holidays may be brought down to three; 1) Republic Day. 2) Independence Day. 3) Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday. Beyond these let there be around 60 Optional holidays comprising of various religious festivals, national festivals, regional festivals etc. The individuals can avail another 15 holiday
