According to the findings of the University of Alaska mosquitoes are living in this world for 226 million years. Average life span of mosquito is 42-56 days for female and 10 days for male. Politics mixed with socialism and communism made Kerala a graveyard of industries. During the last 50 years, countless number of industries have been closed in this state. If counted, good industries alone can be estimated to be over 10,000 numbers. Few million people were left jobless. What is the outcome of this act by political parties? We  have state and central governments to ensure the right commodities at the right price to the people. Of late it has been noticed that while the price of a certain pack is retained as without any increase, the content of the pack is brought down considerably. This can be found by weight in some items and by numbers in some other. The variation may range upto 20%. This is equivalent to raise the price to that extent. Some well known brands are doing this for years. During the past few years they have brought down the weight by over 50%. The people expect the government to check the unreasonable price increase by any manufacturers/sellers. In the health sector, India being the largest populated country in the world, has 1.7 nurses per 1,000 population and 1.0 doctor per 1,404 population. According to WHO norm there should be 3 nurses per 1,000 population and 1.0 doctor per 1,100 population. As per the report of Ministry of External Affairs 32 million NRIs and OCIs are now living abroad. About 2.5 million people are leaving the country every year. These make Indian citizens the highest numbers settled abroad. Annual remittance from them in 2020-21 was $87 billion which contributes 2.75% of the GDP.  While the successive governments might be looking it as a positive sign, if get into it deeply we may find that it may not be so positive. They have expressed their uneasiness by calling back their ambassadors from US and Australia. In fact it can be seen as a  trade related friction. China has already refuted the new tri-nation alliance. The US and France have already started discussion in the matter and got it patched up. According to World Population Review for 2024 Denmark ranked the cleanest country in the world. Other top countries in cleanness are UK, Finland, Sweden, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Malta, Slovenia and Iceland. Recently a retired official from the government sector said that he had some pain in the chest. He immediately visited a known private hospital and consulted a cardiologist. The doctor, after detailed examination suggested an Angioplasty surgery. Cost of the surgery would be Rs 1.5 lakhs, was the advice by the doctor. Our cardiac patient left the reputed private hospital and went straight to a district hospital and consulted the cardiologist there. After detailed examination our patient got admitted there and remained there for few days. The doctor then told him that he was fully cured and was discharged. The total expenditure in the hospital was said to be Rs 6,000/- plus. This may not be an isolated incident. In the case of Angioplasty the private hospitals in Kerala charges around Rs 1.2 to Rs 1.6 lakhs. The surgery takes about 30 minutes to 2 hours.
