MANIPUR TURMOIL AND THE DORMANT CHRISTIAN PRIESTHOOD

Image
According to various reports, over 100 people have been died, over 300 have been injured and over 40,000 have lost their houses in the ongoing violence in Manipur until now. It is a matter deeply deplorable that it is an after effect of communal violance. It is most unfortunate to see that when other countries are trying to unite their people for the economic and social development of their countries, we Indians find pleasure in killing each other in the name of God. While it is reported that most victims belong to Christian community, no senior priesthood from any sects of Christians, to the best of my knowledge have so far visited the affected region and consoled the people. Since a good number of Catholic population are reported to be among the victims, despite expectations, no any senior priesthood from the Catholic community too visited the affected region. It is requested, therefore, that a group of Bishops and above may visit the place as early as possible. They may ...

THE FAILURE OF COMMUNISM IN THE WORLD AND IN INDIA

Image
The British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, US President Harry Truman and the Russian leader Joseph Stalin at the Postdam conference in 1945. Communists are hoisting red flags in India for about a century. During these long years they could not touch more than three states. Brief explanation of Communism can be like this: 'Communism is a political and economic ideology that positions itself in opposition to liberal democracy and capitalism, advocating instead for a classless system in which  the means of production are owned communally and private property is non-existent or severely curtailed.' The above Communist principles are not at all adhered to by Indian Communists. Whenever they get an opportunity to rule any of the three state here they conduct the ruling as is where is basis just get contented with the rewards in whatever form it may be. Karl Marx has brought in Communism to fight against, rather to use as an effective tool to eradicate Capitalism from t...

ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN KERALA

Image
There are different reasons for a voter to cast his vote for any particular political party. Let us see here the prime such reasons.  - Traditional faith. Affiliation of parents in a party may lead to the offsprings to the same party. - Attachment of the person. If a person is attached with any party, such one is most likely to vote for that party. - Casual reasons. If a renowned leader invite a person to join their party, a common person may be individually tempted. - Compulsion. This compulsion may be due to many reasons. - Expectations. This is the one political leaders try to create in the voters. - Personal relation. It can be blood relation, family relations or any other personal relation. - Cast/Religious consideration. Very few may consider this. - Hatred against the ruling party. This is the one heavily works and make high impact. There are more such reasons for a voter to pick a candidate. However, writing on falls, pasting posters all over, hoisting flags her...

WHY INDIA LOST TO AUSTRALIA IN TEST CRICKET FINAL

Image
What could be the real cause for the recent Test Cricket final match with Australia. * We have not made the homework well. * Our batting and bowling were below par. * We did not have good captaincy. * Our team selection was poor. * We did not play as a team. * Australia is an undefeatable team. * The Oval pitch was most unsuited for us. * We talk more act less. * Politics have crept into our team management. * Flattery by our media. Do you think any of these are the reason for our collapse? K V George

CRIME AGAINST WOMEN IN KERALA

Image
As  per the state police records, crime against women is on the rise in Kerala. 16,199 crimes against women were reported in the state in 2021.  This rose to 18,943 in 2022. Sexual assault cases also rose from 4,059 to 5,354. Eight dowry deaths were also reported in the last year. According to a report by the Mathrubhumi there were 1784 cases of sexual assault in January 2023 alone. Out of these 223 were sexual assault cases, 629 were insulting the modesty of women and 409 were sexual assault by family members. What a pathetic condition of women in the highly literate state! Dowry related disturbance and cruelty is a usual thing in many houses in Kerala. Over and above these account, according to the makers of the film, 'The Kerala Story' 32,000 girls belonging to Hindu and Christian communities were found missing during the last ten years from Kerala. They were reported to have taken to Syria and Afghanistan. Unfortunately, our governments do not have time to look...

TRAIN ACCIDENT IN ORISSA, THE CAUSE SHOULD BE FOUND

Image
The  unconfirmed report shows that the death toll in yesterday's train accident is over 288 and the injured are about 1091. 56 people are reported to be in serious condition. A joint team after inspecting the accident site is reported to have arrived at a conclusion that it was happened due to signalling system failure. Whatever it may be, it will finally lead to an individual. It is a matter of hours to locate that individual. It should not be delayed. It can also be the result of an erroneous system. There may be top level political leaders to save that suspected person or a wrong system, which should not be allowed. The railway must find out the exact reason that caused this accident. It may please be ensured that such horrible things do not repeat.  When railway is doing so much to enhance the comfort of the passengers, speed of the train and improving the signalling system, could we not update safety standard in international level? This may be something that ...
