WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARECTOR FORMATION OF OUR CHILDREN?
Of late we are finding news of qualified youth working as narcotics carriers. Young school children are used by political workers for distribution of narcotics. There are reports of sales of narcotics products from beauty parlours. Such reports goes on and on. They all do it for fast money with little effort. They know they are doing a crime. They also know that the future of countless number of people are spoiled by their passion for these illegitimate earning. Still they do it for their unquenching thirst for money.
Who is responsible for these unforgivable activities of our youth? The prime responsibility falls on the parents. A child's growth is expected to be closely watched by the parents. Significant contribution is expected from the parents towards the formation of charector of the children. The physical and mental growth of their offspring are to be strictly governed by the parents. In the case of any deviation, corrective measures are to be taken at the appropriate time from the appropriate source are to be by the parents.
The next cadre for charector formation in children is teachers. Teachers generally teach the students what they are asked to teach through the printed books. The books are prepared as per the syllabus drafted. Even after passing three quarters of a century after independence we could not pick the right syllabus for the tomorrow's citizens of our country. We still focus on the irrelevant history and job oriented science. We give no consideration for the charector formation of the children. We all give more attention in teaching children about religion and God. The priests and other religious leaders use all available oppertunity to teach more and more about their respective religions than teaching them to become good human beings.
We find the cancerous growth of corruption in our country, the destructive political ideologies spread across the nation, most unsafe situation for women, widespread use of narcotics all around, disastrous ways of protests everywhere for anything and such countless numbers of vices are prevailing in our country. Should we not erase these from our society? Until we remove the disastrous tendencies from our coming generation we cannot have a peaceful, progressive, developed and strong India.
Hence without any further delay we must prepare a new syllabus for our school children from Class 4 to Class 12. A large committee of eminent people from various sectors like education, sociology, health, law and order, religion, public administration, economic development etc should be included in the formation of syllabus.
Public cooperation is more important than anything else.
