ECONOMIC COMPARISON BETWEEN INDIA AND USA

America became independent from the British on 04 July 1776. American economy always stood on large natural resources, wide infrastructure and high productivity. India got independence 171 years after, in 1947. While the current GDP of USA is $20.89 trillion which keep them on top of the world, the GDP of India stands at 6th place with $2.66 trillion. In geography USA holds 3rd position in the world while India is in 6th position. In geographical area USA is 3 times bigger than India. In the case of infrastructure, in roadways, India has 3.37km road per 1000 inhabitants USA has 19.85km of the same. In railways, India has 0.05 km per 1000 inhabitants, USA.has 0.85 km for the same. In the case of waterways, India has 0.01 km per 1000 inhabitants, USA has 0.12 km of the same. In total number of harbours, India has 0.001 nos per 1000 inhabitants, USA has  0.011 nos for the same. In the case of total number of airports in the country, India has 346 nos and USA has 13,513 nos (based on the survey report of 2022). Now, when we take the productivity, the population of India stands at 1.39 billion while the same of USA is 0.332 billion. The median age of the population of India is 29 years while the same of USA is 39 years. (All the figures shown are as on August 2022)

When USA is much on the higher side in geographical area and in infrastructure, India is more than 4 times higher in population which is the main tool of productivity. We also have one of the youngest workforce in the world. Here comes a question. What are the factors that took USA to an unassilable height in GDP, at least for India. Can we target this height and work for it? Certainly, but subject to some conditions. The first of those would be the disciplined people and the disciplined government. Without these two, no country can attain development and reach the top of the world. Then,  the government should love the people. The prime goal of the government should be the contentment and happiness of the people and peace in the country. And above all we should eradicate corruption from every level of the society. When the people come up with their problems our governments are going to sort out their political issues. Until this hundred party political system is thrown out and a two party system is brought in we can never think about reaching on top of the world.
