WHAT COULD BE THE FATE OF TAIWAN AND THE PRC - RoC CLAIMS

Soon after the end of second World War Japan handed over Taiwan to China in 1945. Chaina earlier too took over Taiwan in the 17th century and ruled over them for two centuries. While China now claims that Taiwan is a province of the People's Republic of China, the existing government of Taiwan maintenance that it is an independent country as Republic of China. When China is trying to strengthen its stand with arms power, Taiwan is doing its best to take help from US and some others. There are about 60 countries including USA, UK, Germany, France, Japan and other members of the European Union offering support to Taiwan. Even Hong Kong and Macau have made unofficial deplomatic relationship with RoC. Surprisingly Russia too join the list of countries who have made unofficial diplomatic relationship with Taiwan.

As on 2020 USA had an investment of $31.5 billion in Taiwan in different sectors like manufacturing, trade, finance, insurance etc.Taiwan has an investment of over $724 millions in India. India and Taiwan have developed a strong bilateral economic relations in the 21st century. Taiwan is seen by many countries of the world as an ideal country to invest.

In 2020 Taiwan had a population of 2.36 crores. It's GDP was $669.25 billions in 2020. As per available data (unconfirmed) Taiwan had a GDP pci of $50,500 in 2017 while the same of China in 2018 was $18,200.

The repercussions of the current challenges and counter challenges are unpredictable. If taken a firm decision to forcefully capture Taiwan and amalgamate to PRC it would certainly be ended up as World War III. If such an unfortunate turn takes place it would be a nuclear war that last only for a couple days. The end result will be that many of the offensive and defensive nations including their surrounding ones shall be burnt out. India may be forced to take either of the side and have to become an active participant of the war. The names of many participants of this war shall be erased from the world map. No PRC or RoC will be left make the balance sheet of the destructive trade. However, it can be safely assumed that since the relevant nations being adequately intelligent they may not venture into crash down from their top layer of development and comfort to bottom floor of all-round destruction and extreme poverty and sufferings. The two sides may think twice before moving ahead with their 'I' and 'You' stands, may turn to a 'We' stand.
