We will travel through the most holy river right from the beginning all the way upto the confluence. The total length is 2510 km. The Ganga River rises from the Southern Himalayas. The five headstreams of the Holy River are Alaknanda, Mandakini, Bhagirathi, Dhauli Ganga and Pindar. In spite of it's holiness, Ganga is one of the most polluted rivers. Most populated regions in the world are the Ganga basins. Untreated sewage, waste from countless number of industries, large amount of agriculture waste, half burnt and unburnt human bodies and large amount of carcass end up in the great river all through its course.
