WHAT IS BEHIND THE SPURT OF COVID19 IN KERALA NOW?

Image
What  we did at the early stages to contain the pandemic when it had wide spurt in other states? What we don't do when the spurt is found here for some time now?  There are certain reasons for these. It is the medical community to detect the causes. It is an unwritten law practiced the world over that when a system is successfully working no one dare to disturb it. If we look at this aspect too we shall have a better clarity on the matter. KV George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

PLASTIC RAIN WATER TANKS

Image
Governments and environmentalists are strongly arguing for the eradication of plastic. People too support this as plastic is harmful for human life as for other life forms. Plastic is not biodegradable. It breaks into pieces and cause to produce toxic chemicals. It has adverse impact on the bio system. Huge quantity of plastic waste accumulated in many parts of the sea threaten the under water life. In fact there is no way for a total annihilation of plastic from the earth. Let us now think about recycling of plastic waste into productive and harmless purpose. All waste plastic may be recycled into interlocking plastic bricks of standard measure. These bricks may be fixed on the cemented floor over a fairly good area to form a rain harvesting tank. In many parts of our country serious water scarcity is felt. Whatever the rain water received can be stored in these tanks. Such tanks can be constructed at unused public and private land.  This arrangement can certainly give...

RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONS

Image
We  have a good number of Residents Associations in the state. Most of these are offering exemplary service to their residents. If they can expand their area of activities, the concerned residents can have high quality food articles. Most of the vegetables and fruits brought from neighbouring states are highly contaminated with pesticides in dangerous level. If the Residents Associations themselves can directly bring these from the cultivators under prearranged terms to replace the existing chemicals with herbal pesticides, their members can have good quality fruits and vegetables. Similarly they can also think about manufacturing curry powders and other food articles. Most of these things coming to our kitchens are highly adulterated. For some peculiar reasons, most of these adulteration cases are not reported. Also they can add fish, meat, egg etc to the list as these two are dangerously contaminated. The present individual Residents Associations can think about distr...

PUBLIC PROTEST, A WASTE EFFORT

Image
World  have seen some good number of public protests in the recent past. After the killing of George Floyd hundreds of thousands of people from all 50 states of USA taken to the streets against police brutality and institutional racism in May 2020 was one of the biggest public protests in America in the recent history. In January 2017, about half a million people marched on Washington DC in support of women's rights, with more than 600 marches planned in the US and 81 other countries on the same day is seen as the largest single day protest. Over one million people, mostly students, seeking democratic reforms, had peacefully occupied the Tiananmen Square, Beijing, China in January 2010 were unexpectedly rolled over by tanks killing more than one lakh people was another significant protest in the recent times. 'CLEANLINESS EVERYWHERE'

Image
The  top five cleanest countries in the world are, 1. Iceland 2. Sweden 3. Switzerland 4. Norway 5. Mauritius. Out of 180 countries India at 177, Bangladesh, Burundi, DR of Congo and Nepal are at the bottom five of the list. Why we Indians are lagging behind in cleanliness? We have not included cleanliness in the school syllabus must be the right answer. India gives priority for tourism and a good number tourists from all over the world are coming here. We welcome them with "Atithi Devo Bhava". We give them what best we have. Is it enough? We must ask ourselves. Among the Indian states Kerala is on top in health and education but holds the last spot in cleanliness. Who are responsible for the unclean state of affairs? First, the home, followed by the school, the religious establishments, the social organisations and finally the government. The successive governments that ruled the state gave least priority for cleanliness. The government should provide adequate pr...

RETURN TO LIFE AFTER DEATH

Image
(Continued from yesterday) As per Hinduism life is called Samsara which is a continuous cycle of life, death and rebirth. Most Hindus believe that every human after death takes rebirth in another body. However some Hindus believe that the Atman (soul) takes rebirth after staying in another realms. Christianity also believe that according to the density of sins held by one, takes rebirth as offsprings for three or four generations. There are good number of revelations about dead return to life. In many cases those come back to life after death narrated all that happened around the dead body during the hours of 'death'. American cardiologist Maurice S. Rawlings in his renowned book, Beyond Death's Door, narrated an incident. A young man involved in a road accident was brought to the hospital. Doctors examined and found him dead and the messages were sent to the available numbers. His sister and a few others came to the hospital. They had brought the body out and p...
