During the Second World War, Hitler and company massacred over 8 million Jews. After wandering around the world for centuries the Jewish community could land at their own place.  On May 14, 1948 the head of the Jewish Agency, David Ben Gurion proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel. US President Harry S Trueman recognised  the new nation on the same day. The declaration of independence of Palestine was written by their poet Mahmoud Darwish and proclaimed by Yasser Arafat on 15 November 1988. Palestine does not belong to any particular people or community. The land was under the control of various empires like the Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and eventually the Islamic Caliphate and the Ottoman Empire. Throughout history a great diversity of people have moved into the region and made Palestine their homeland. They were Cananites, Jebusites, Philistines from Crete,  Anatolian and Lydian Greeks, Hebrews, Amorites, Edomites, Nabataeans, Arameans, Romans, Arabs and Western European Crusaders etc. From the 7th century there were Muslim Empires attack on Palestine and each battle brought huge number of people into Islam. Finally on August 24, 1516 the Ottoman Empire conquered the land and brought all to Islam.

In 1948 five Arab nations invaded Israel following the announcement of the state of Israel on May 14,1948. However, the newly formed country could overcome it. After the war only two parts of Palestine remained in Arab control. The West Bank (and East Jerusalem) annexed by Jordan and the Gaza Strip (occupied by Egypt) which were conquered by Israel during the six-day war in 1967.

In 1973 October, during their festival days, Israeli forces were caught off guard by Egyptian army. They caused severe damages to Israel. Finall they, however, retaliated. On June 5, 1982 Israel was to fight with both Palestine and Lebanon together. Finally when Israeli forces encircled Lebanon, negotiation started under the leadership of PLO. Then it was the Second Lebanon War of July 2006. The Hezbollah of Lebanon killed a number of Israeli soldiers and Israel retaliated. Of late in 2023 the terrorist group of Palestine prompted by other countries, trespassed into Israel and and many civilians were attacked. Small children were slaughtered in front of the parents, women were forcefully brought down and their hearts were brought out and sliced in front of their men. Such cruelties have done by the terrorist groups.

Now we must find a permanent solution for this. Innocent people should not be allowed to be massacred. Tomorrow we will discuss about a permanent solution.
To be continued.
