SOMETHING ABOUT ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION

Image
According   to WHO total alcohol per capita consumption in 2010 among drinkers worldwide was on average 19.4 litres for males and 7.0 litres of pure alcohol for females. In another report by another agency in 2019, globally alcohol consumption causes 2.8 million premature deaths per year.  Alcohol use across North Africa and Middle East is particularly low  whereas Europe is the highest at around 15 litres per person per year in the Czechia, Lithuania and Moldova. This equals around two' bottles of wine per person per week. Drinking habits among  per volume adults is highest in Australia and France which is close to 95 per cent. Beer contains around 5% of pure alcohol, which means that 5 litres of pure alcohol equals 100 litres of beer. When it is wine, 3 litres of pure alcohol  equals around 25 bottles of wine. In many Asian countries spirits accounts for most of the total alcohol consumption. In India it is over 90%. Top alcohol consuming countries in the world in 202

SHAMEFUL ATTACKS ON CHRISTIAN NUNS

Image
Of late it has become a routine affair to attack Christian nuns. These wicked ones cruelly beat the poor women with sticks and other weapons. In fact the real weapon is religious philosophy converted into political ideology. Those who commit this criminal acts do not even know why they do it to these lovable ones. Can the attackers say what harm these poor ones did to them? Does their great religion preach them to annihilate those belonging to other faiths? If that is the philosophy what is happened in Egypt, Syria, Pakistan and even the destruction of World Trade Center in US get justified and the philosophy behind it to be ratified. Most of the Indians, at some stages of their lives must have met these sisters in schools and colleges and acquired knowledge from them, when many of them were sick and lying in hospitals they must have had healing care in abundance from them, when many were starving they were taken to the care homes and given enough food by these sisters and

PSEUDO VOTER MEANS PSEUDO DEMOCRACY

Image
If a citizen of democratic country dare to cast forged vote such one shaking the corner stone of the democracy of that country. If a democratically elected government remain silent on such malpractice that country cannot be called as a democratic country. It is certainly a pseudo democracy. Since this act also weaken the strong pillar - judiciary too, judiciary may voluntarily come up to overcome this tendency.  Every elected body collectively and individually may rise to the occasion to make this illegitimate act to be perished for ever. The media which is the strongest establishment for the democratic awareness should also come up to reach this to more and more people as well as destroying this heinous act for ever. The government is the fundamental institution with all resources at hand capable of annihilating this cancerous growth from the society. If people join together to help the election commission in identifying this wrong doings they may do it at once to help dem

VOTE - THE ONLY WEAPON

Image
People of a democratic nation like India have only one weapon to defend, protect and survive and that is vote. We all quite frequently raise voice against corruption of our rulers. Corruption by the rulers are not for paltry sum but huge amounts. It is not by one ruler but many. Corruption is not petty theft but dacoity, looting and burglary. This is the money we pay as taxes, duties, fees etc to the government from time to time for the benefit of the entire people. In a democratic country people cannot do much to prevent corruption but can only remain as silent spectators.  However once in five years we get a severe weapon to counter corruption and other vices of our leaders. Therefore, we must use this weapon - vote - most effectively. We should not fall victims of outdated ideology and rusted economic philosophy. Under no circumstances we should miss to do our legitimate franchise. K V George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

FOWL PLAY IN VOTERS LIST

Image
Media  is relentlessly reporting about fowl play in voters list. Even though we have such number of  establishments in our country for the upkeep of democracy, it seems that no one is taking this grave offence with due attention and priority. Probably with the connivance of political leaders, the bottom level workers are creating multiple documents to cast forged votes. When the real voter reaches the polling station he finds with utter dismay that someone else have used his franchise. Vote is the only instrument the common man can use to establish his right to be the citizen of this country, if that too is snatched from him, his objection seeking redressal should reach the highest democratic offices of the country. The Parliament and the Judiciary may take emergency measures to end all sorts of malpractices in voting. K V George kvgeorgein@gmail.com

ELECTION PROPOGANDA BY WRONG MEANS

Image
All sorts of publicity stunts are used during elections by all candidates. Depending upon the availability of funds the mode of operation and the numbers are varied. Thousands of sq.meters of boundary walls of public buildings and private houses are used for writings and fixing of posters. Countless number of party flags and banners are fitted at all available places and all these remain there for the coming five years. I think no one has conducted any detailed study about the impact of these means of propoganda on the final outcome of the election. For instance, let us imagine that candidate 'A' has written about him in thousands of square metres of walls and candidate 'B' has not written on any walls. Does this make candidate 'A' win the election or candidate 'B' lose the election? I do not think even one vote is added to one's kitty with the help of scribblings made on the walls, posters pasted all around, number of banners stretched

LET'S DEVELOP AYURVEDIC MEDICINE AND SPREAD ACROSS THE WORLD

Image
According  to National Ayurvedic Medical Association, "Ayurveda is said to be an eternal science that first existed in the universal consciousness (Brahma) before it was passed from the creator to the ancient Indian mystics through meditation. The origins of Ayurveda stretch deep into antiquity..... Composed between 500 and 1000 BCE in an ancient form of Sanskrit, the Vedas celebrate the elements of life, especially fire, wind and water as well as Mother Earth and the plants and animals who dwell upon her. Many herbs, some now unknown and some still used in Ayurveda to this day, were originally described in the Vedas." According to the Editors of  Encyclopedia Britannica, Ayurveda is a traditional system of Indian medicine. Ayurvedic medicine is an example of a well-organized system of traditional health care, both preventive and curative, that is widely practiced in parts of Asia. VOTE ON CONTRACT

Image
After  the election result is announced it has become almost mandatory for political parties to appoint commission to find out how 'their own votes' are gone to others. It is a sheer mockery! No citizen has entered into any contract with any party that he would cast his vote to any given party throughout his life. Democracy does not advocate any compulsion in exercising ones franchise. If a candidate is not elected, it means  the voters have just rejected him; nothing else. KVGeorge kvgeorgein@gmail.com

COUNTRIES WHICH ARE NOT SO SAFE FOR WOMEN

Image
World  leaders vowed few years ago to eliminate all forms of violence and discrimination against women and girls by 2030, allowing them to live freely and safely to participate equally in political, economic and public life. But despite this pledge it is estimated that one in three women globally experience physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. Child marriage is still rife, with almost 750 million women and girls married before their 18th birthday, resulting in teen pregnancies that can put their health at risk and limiting schooling and opportunities. This is how the countries scored for a particular category. 01 - India Violence against women in India  has caused national and international outrage and protests since 2012 gang rape and murder of a student on a bus in New Delhi. WE CAN GET RID OFF OUR PROBLEMS

Image
AS   human beings we all might be confronting with many problems on a daily basis or even lesser frequencies. Those can be ill health, poverty, debt, problems in the family or profession, continuous failures in every endeavor undertaken etc. Why some are facing such problems but others are not? Every difficulty comes on our way is the out come of our sin and the sin of our ancestors. The sin create very potential negative force in us. We can not replace this with positive energy by doing good deeds because as per the natural law we are now inflicted with punishment for the sin accumulated in us. It may take a few generation to complete the cleaning process. Hence all our troubles shall be passed on to our offspring and the intensity of their suffering may be more than what we had. Because we, our fathers, and our children together make one person and the Judge Supremo is just performing the unflinching justice. C an anyone else save us from the sufferings? Yes, another

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS - LAW OF GOD OR LAW OF MOSES.

Image
"Then the Lord said to Moses, Put these words in writing, as terms of the covenant I am making, with thee and with Israel." (Exodus 34:27). According to this verse of the Old Testament the Ten Commandments are the commandments of God the Father given to man. Now let us see what Lord Jesus Christ said about the vision of God. "You have always been deaf to his voice, blind to the vision of him." (John 5:37) ("Not that anyone has seen the Father, except him who comes from God; he alone has seen the Father) - John 6:46. Further to these Jesus Christ gives two commandments superceding all earlier commandments. "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart and thy whole soul and thy whole mind. This is the greatest of the commandments, and the first. And the second, its like, is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments, all the law and the prophets depend." (Mathew 22:37-40) Despite Jesus establishes in
