POLITICAL VIEW

Large segment of the world population live in a political world created by a handful of politicians within their limited knowledge. What to eat and what not to eat by the common man is a political choice. How to wear, how to behave, how to live, how to look and how to talk are under the direction of politicians. Common man are made to believe that politicians are their creation and the whip is in their hands, but common man cannot liberally act; can only choose from a very few. Anyone may ask, 'why should we surrender ourselves to these politicians who are proved to be not competent to rule us.'  None of us, however, may respond to this in public. The reason for our silence must be the mythical belief we have that we are a big power fully armed to bring up or throw away these politicians at will. Let us reiterate the fact that people have now power in the existing form of democracy other than to choose one rotten thing from too small a lot. Once chosen they grow into enormous

LOVE AND LOVE

Love is one of the most used words in the world.  Each one of us have our own interpretation of the word. In fact we all use it to our convenience. While using this word either in spoken language or written language we prefer to remain incognito. We are certainly not using this word according to the stipulated meaning. As per the standard dictionary, love means, a strong feeling of affection. We may be within the purview of the meaning given but it can be either positive or negative feelings. In fact the expression of love by animals are natural and genuine whereas human love contains full of deception. God is love! What the little bit of love we have is the gift of God. Most of us never try to add to what is given to us. Either we may retain it as it is or leave it away in course of the hard life. If we happen to see anyone full of love, it is certain that the element of God in such people are very high. For instance, Mother Teresa was one with divine love. She was a human filled wi

WHY COMMUNIST PARTY FAILED TO TAKE ROOT IN INDIA

Communist party planted its first seed in India on 26th Dec 1925. India was the most fertile land for the party to grow and spread widely. According to available information the literacy rate during this period was much below 10%. Poverty was at its peak. According to the first census of 1951 the population of the free India was slightly above 36 crores. In 1925 it was less than this and majority of them were like slaves under the British and with the Zamindars of India. The Indian people of those time were not preloaded with any political ideology. An ideal atmosphere for the communist party to take roots. Even in their wildest dreams they cannot find a better time to spread the wings, but the party utterly failed here. In the current Lok Sabha the CPI has 1 member and CPIM 9. All their so called theories, meetings, rallies, bundh, gherao and many other display of resistance could fetch them nothing but a total fiasco. The party has failed to understand the people of India. They hav

UNDERSTANDING AND MISUNDERSTANDING

There are many people wailing quite frequently that they are not understood by others. Some others curse themselves for they are misunderstood by others. The parents say they are not understood by their children and vice versa. Some teachers feel they are misunderstood by their students and vice versa. The husband finds that he is not properly understood by the wife and vice versa. What is the difference between understanding and misunderstanding? In fact, both have vague meaning. What is called a 'perfect understanding' today can be a misunderstanding tomorrow, and the other way round. In most cases, we select a friend or one become our friend, may be, rather certainly, out of misunderstanding. If we can read the minds of our friends, we shall not have any friends at all. Almost all disputes between individuals, families, societies or nations take place out of misunderstanding. We do not understand others because we cannot understand them.  If someone express love towards

PUBLIC SECTOR BANKS AND THE PUBLIC

Banks are intermediary financial establishments between the government and the people. Banks normally do not have to do anything of their own. They must strictly adhere to the socioeconomic policies of the government in close association. While all the policies formed by the government are for the betterment of the people, banks should ensure that all decisions and actions taken by them too are in the same direction. The primary target of a government in a country like India should be to bridge the gap between the poor and not so poor. Banks can play a significant role in this direction. Of late we find that the banks, especially those owned by the government, are taking many negative steps. These banks have become pure commercial establishments vying with one another to squeeze the people of the country. State Bank of India, the premier bank of the country, is undoubtedly doing the maximum harassment to the common man. Consequent upon the merger of five associate banks and Bharathiy
