'BAR' AND PEACE

The bars in Kerala remain closed for some time but liquor consumption continues to be same. What for the bars are closed is yet to be understood by the common man who pays heavily to the state exchequer. He also fails to understand why he is asked to stand in the hot sun like an animal with scant respect. Some of the closed bars and the opened ones look alike for the onlooker. Why a decision is kept pending for long is also not understandable for the once in a while bar visitor. The following options are open for the govt. They may come out of the inaction and decide some thing early. Ban liquor in the state with immediate effect. Moving under intoxication at public places may be made punishable. Prescribe the standards of the bar and make to adhere to . Pass the responsibility of opening of the bars to the judiciary, if law allows. Last but the least, if the govt can not act ask the people to fight it out on the streets as in many other issues. Opt for any thing but act

LOVE, FORGIVNESS AND PUNISHMENT

Every creation is from love. Love is the foundation of life.Life ceases when love ends. Love makes life contented. Forgiveness is the product of love. It is the effect and result of love. Forgiveness amongst one another makes survival possible. Destruction begins where forgiveness ends. Punishment is rejuvenation. It is also rectification, the maker's act to revert. Punishment is out of extreme love to avoid further deviation to negative direction. KVGeorge Kerala

DEMOCRACY ON SALE

During half way through the current general election, Election Commission has recovered unaccounted money amounting to Rs 321 crores from political parties from a few states. The money was either being distributed to a selected category of voters or meant for distribution later. It is just not money alone but also 1.62 crores of liquor, 12104 kg of heroin or other brands of narcotics, 12681 kg of ammunition etc. Alas, shortest way to establish  liberty, fraternity and equality! Still we dare to boast that we are the largest 'democracy' in the world. T he above petty distribution may look too small considering a total official expenditure of Rs 1.5 lakh crores for the entire general elections till now. T he same offenders continue to remain as accredited parties despite repeating this offense time and again. W here the law is hiding itself from the people? KVGeorge Kerala
