MEDICAL KILLING OF UNNAMED CHILD

| Government of India is proposing to amend the MTP Act 1972. The existing law allows to terminate pregnancy up to 20 weeks. This is proposed to be extended up to 24 weeks. At present only a registered medical practitioner specialised in gynecology is allowed to do the termination. As per this amendment, Homeo, Ayurveda and Unani practitioners and midwives are also become competent to do the termination. W hile the medical community in general is against this amendment, politicians of various parties are suspecting monitory corruption behind this amendment proposal. W hatever may be the proposal and the outcome of it, the primary intention of this is to check population growth. Here comes the very important question. Should we commit murders to check population growth? As this unborn baby has no name, not found in any government or social records and not even the member of its own family, is it fair to kill the child for any reason whatsoever? The child can not appeal  to its

'OPERATION POPULATION CONTROL'

About 14 healthy young women died in Chatisgarh. I do not know whether we can use the word 'killed'. This is happened in an effort by the state govt to bring down the population. As per media reports rusted instruments were used in the operation. The doctor who conducted the operation say that post operation medicines caused the ill fated deaths. Some one has to find out who is the culprit. In the recent past, in New Delhi, when a politician's wife died all big hungama were there. Political parties, women,s organizations, social organizations, TV channels etc vying each other to highlight the death. Each one were presenting his own theory. Alas, in Chatisgarh issue, since the victims were poor and not popular no much voice is coming up. KVGeorge

BAR CRORE

ONE say he gave one crore. Other say he has not received. One of them is certainly lying. police to find out who is that. Rest of it is to be done by the court of law. Just to kick out politics from this. But who will kick? KVGeorge

STUDENTS PARTICIPATION IN GOVERNMENT

THE government of Kerala has plenty of issues which the elders could not resolve for long. The elder generation, instead of hatching on these issues for unlimited period of time, may pass to the younger generation. Our students of schools and colleges are one of the best in the world. With a legislative approval the government may form a board of high caliber students numbering around fifty from various schools and colleges across the state. Whatever tough issues come to the government can be referred to these students without any binding on either parties. I am sure that our children shall offer a reasonably good solution.Acquisition of land for 45 Mtr wide National Highway, waste management in towns and cities, mosquito eradication \, poisonous fruits and vegetables in the markets,, road accidents and traffic management, corruption and inefficiency in govt offices etc are some of the issues which can be put to the children. ECONOMIC EXPLOSION

According to a report of the world economic forum appeared in the media, the assets of 95% of Indian population are below Rs 6 lakhs. What we have done for the past six decades just concentrated , therefore, on 5% of the people only. We are loudly saying that we are going to be a super economic power by he next decade. Prices of almost every commodity used by  these 95% people have been increased by 100% to approx 350% during the past couple of years and the rise continues. Prices of petrol and diesel raised by multiples during the past five years. Now the prices of crude have reached an all time low of the past five years but the government does nothing to bring down the local sale price at least by 75% of the increased amount. Over and above all these corruption at every level is going beyond any control. The rulers of the nation forget the hard fact that the above said 95% of the population do their best to cope with the situation. Sooner or later a day will come that

INFANT DEMOCRACY

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been sent to jail by the special court after 18 years trial at various courts. The charges, swindling of public money over sixty crores rupees, have been found true by the court and the sentence is awarded. Consequent upon this violence erupted in the state and as on date about 19 people have been died, either killed or committed suicide.Does this indicate that people are supporting corruption? Or Chief Minister should be given immunity in corruption charges? Or Chief Minister, during office, should be given blanket permission to steal public money? Now the people are fighting against the constitution or the judiciary to be spelt out. This is absolutely a wrong signal to the entire country or even to the world in the case of corruption. Whatever it may be, democracy is still in infant stage in India. KVGeorge

BANKING

The schemes introduced by the govt. to reach the banking chain to the lower section of the society is quite appreciable. Along with,  efforts should be made to popularise net banking with a view to curb black money and bring down the circulation of currency notes. Net banking should be made easier and safer so that more and more people shall be attracted towards it. KVGeorge kvgeorgein@gmail.com

MALASIAN AIRLINES TRAGEDY

The Malasian Airlines tragedy reminds us once again that falling sophisticated weapons into wrong hands how dangerous is. Also all nations should ensure to avoid flying over war zones irrespective of any threats. UN may give special attention to these. KVGeorge kvgeorgein@gmail.com

FIFA WORLD CUP

The just concluded FIFA world cup asserts a fact that if a team does not play the game in the required level no amount of ground support can save it from certain defeat and if a team plays good foot ball it need no ground support for a certain win. KVGeorge

BREAST MILK OF MOTHER NATURE

IF one's wealth is not hard earned it may not last long. The state of Kerala is bestowed with such unmeasurable wealth but the benefactors do not bother to preserve those because they never perspired to acquire those. For instance, the state receive huge amount of rain water every season. Many years state budget would not be enough to get these pure water if mother nature stops this free gift. M ost quantity of the rain water we receive are allowed to flow back to the sea. Whatever left in the rivers, streams and ponds we throw as much filth as possible to those clean water. Further to this, destructive chemicals, in the name of factory waste, are flown to these water sources. Let us avoid this by converting the liquid waste into solid substance and use for creative purpose. W e must not contaminate the breast milk of our mother! KVGeorge kvgeorgein@gmail.com

'BAR' AND PEACE

The bars in Kerala remain closed for some time but liquor consumption continues to be same. What for the bars are closed is yet to be understood by the common man who pays heavily to the state exchequer. He also fails to understand why he is asked to stand in the hot sun like an animal with scant respect. Some of the closed bars and the opened ones look alike for the onlooker. Why a decision is kept pending for long is also not understandable for the once in a while bar visitor. The following options are open for the govt. They may come out of the inaction and decide some thing early. Ban liquor in the state with immediate effect. Moving under intoxication at public places may be made punishable. Prescribe the standards of the bar and make to adhere to . Pass the responsibility of opening of the bars to the judiciary, if law allows. Last but the least, if the govt can not act ask the people to fight it out on the streets as in many other issues. Opt for any thing but act

LOVE, FORGIVNESS AND PUNISHMENT

Every creation is from love. Love is the foundation of life.Life ceases when love ends. Love makes life contented. Forgiveness is the product of love. It is the effect and result of love. Forgiveness amongst one another makes survival possible. Destruction begins where forgiveness ends. Punishment is rejuvenation. It is also rectification, the maker's act to revert. Punishment is out of extreme love to avoid further deviation to negative direction. KVGeorge Kerala

DEMOCRACY ON SALE

During half way through the current general election, Election Commission has recovered unaccounted money amounting to Rs 321 crores from political parties from a few states. The money was either being distributed to a selected category of voters or meant for distribution later. It is just not money alone but also 1.62 crores of liquor, 12104 kg of heroin or other brands of narcotics, 12681 kg of ammunition etc. Alas, shortest way to establish  liberty, fraternity and equality! Still we dare to boast that we are the largest 'democracy' in the world. T he above petty distribution may look too small considering a total official expenditure of Rs 1.5 lakh crores for the entire general elections till now. T he same offenders continue to remain as accredited parties despite repeating this offense time and again. W here the law is hiding itself from the people? KVGeorge Kerala

CRICKET OF POLITICS

CRICKET is becoming a political entity in India largely because of its wealth and  ofcourse, of the popularity. While those who do not have any cricket back ground reach the helm of affairs, experienced and competent cricketers are side lined. The latest of the whole is that the apex court is constrained  to interfere to stop the meddling  of the gentle man's game. If it continues like this, sooner or later cricket will give way to politics. KVGeorge Kerala

CRIMINALS REPRESENT US !!!

ACCORDING to media reports 30% candidates contesting this general election are facing criminal charges in various courts in India. Don't we have five hundred plus clean people to  pick from 1200 million mammoth population? KVGeorge Kerala

CORRUPTION

CORRUPTION  has become the birth right of many Indians who have taken oath to serve the people honestly. This has already crippled many functional elements of the society. If it is further left unchecked it will eat up the nation. This can not be solved politically as it is not the political problem of any one party or parties. It is the problem of the Indians, the 'Arsha Bharathiyas'. As such, let us prepare the next generation to eradicate this decease. Make them aware of the catastrophe. They themselves shall fine a suitable solution. In the meantime, the judicial institutions may deal with the corrupt without any mercy whatsoever. KVGeorge Kerala

FAITH, JUST FAITH

ONCE most part of the country was hit by a terrible drought. All streams, ponds and wells were dried out. People ran all over for water. Cattle fell one after  other. The situation became panic. The priest of the local church during the Sunday sermon told his faithful  people. 'Now only God can help us. If we pray from our heart with utmost faith He will save us from this havoc. So, today evening, all of you must assemble here with full faith in Him. We all together shall pray for rain and I am sure, if we have faith, before we end the prayer there will be heavy rain for hours. Only you must believe in Him.' T here was a huge gathering in the evening. The church could not contain the believers assembled in large numbers. The priest stood on the pulpit and asked in his loudest of voice. "Have you come with firm faith that God shall give us rain before we end the prayer? "Yes." Came the huge commotion. The priest asked again. "How many of you have brough
